The Knight is one of the best classes for close-quarters combat in Chivalry 2. And with these weapons, these players become even more powerful.

Chivalry 2's Knight class is built solely for taking blows, and dishing them right back out again in close combat. Their stamina depletes at a slower rate when blocking than the other three classes, and they have the highest health pool and armor in the game.

The weapons available to Knights in Chivalry 2 tend to be short-ranged, although there are a few exceptions like spears and pole axes. The best way to play a Knight, though, is to be unafraid of close combat and take advantage of its short-range, high-damage weapons.

10 One-Handed Spear – Leaf Spear, Short Spear

One-handed spears, both the Leaf Spear and the Short Spear, are great weapons for just about every class in Chivalry 2 except the Knight. For Archers and Footmen, it helps keep opponents at arm's length; however, Knights don't need to worry about such things.

When paired with a shield, the one-handed spear can help the Knight be a more effective tank for the team. Still, that's mostly because of the presence of a shield, not the spear.

9 Falchion – Cleaver Falchion, Falchion

The falchion is a short-range weapon, which the Knight should theoretically be able to use efficiently. The problem with the falchion is that it just doesn't do as much damage as other primary weapons available to the Knight.

It is a one-handed weapon, though. Similarly to the one-handed spear, it can be paired with a shield to make a Knight character a bit more of a tank.

8 Pole Axe – Curved Pole Axe, Pole Axe

The pole axe is a lengthy two-handed axe with its blade at the very tip of the handle. It's got great reach, and a few overhead swings will kill any player – if it connects. However, the pole axe is not great for intimate combat. Damage is reduced when hitting enemies with anything but the axe head.

Because Knights are so often in close quarters fights, it's best to stay away from weapons with reach. The pole axe is a great weapon, but it's better in the hands of a Vanguard, who has lower health and needs to keep opponents away.

7 Executioner's Axe – Beheader Axe, Bowed Axe

The executioner's axe is another reach-based Knight weapon that outclasses others, thanks to its massive damage output. Two overhead swings will take out any other player, and it can take out Archers in just one swing. However, just like the spear and pole axe, its length is its curse.

Knights find themselves surrounded by enemies or in tight corridors (depending on the map) which act as a kind of barrier pretty often in Chivalry 2. A long weapon just doesn't work as well in interior areas. Like the pole axe, hitting with the wrong part of the weapon will deal significantly less damage.

6 Longsword – Bastard Sword, Long Sword

The longsword, available in the bastard sword and regular longsword variants, are a great all-around option for Knights. They have decent reach without the handle of the weapon getting in the way of close-range combat. Players can pair them with a shield too.

The one downside of the longsword is the relatively low damage output compared to other Knight weapons, as the others can hit harder in closer quarters.

5 Axe – Horseman's Axe, Viking Axe

Both the Horseman's Axe and the Viking Axe are one-handed options available to Knights in Chivalry 2. Axes are close-range, hard-hitting weapons that let the Knight wield a shield. However, it isn't quite as powerful as some other one-handed options.

The regular axe swings faster than the war axe or battle axe, though. For those who really want to play with an axe-like weapon in Chivalry 2 without the punishing slow swing speed, the regular axe is a good go-to.

4 War Axe – Berserker's Axe, Winged Axe

The war axe takes the cake as the best one-handed weapon available to Knights in Chivalry 2. It has the highest damage output, can be paired with a defense-boosting shield, and lets the Knight plow through other players face to face.

One-handed weapons can only do so well, but having a shield makes blocking much more effective. Players are also able to block with their weapon, though. The heavy mace, battle axe, and two-handed hammer are much more powerful alternatives.

3 Heavy Mace – Heavy Flanged Mace, Grand Mace

The heavy mace, available as the heavy flanged mace and the grand mace, is a two-handed medieval bashing stick. It swings slowly, but when it connects, it breaks armour and flesh apart with ease.

There's one downside of the heavy mace compared to other two-handed close range weapons. It leaves the Knight open from all angles during the slow swinging animation. Keep an eye on Footmen and Vanguards in particular, as they can come out of nowhere to take advantage of slow-swinging Knights.

2 Battle Axe – Double Axe, Bowtie Axe

The battle axe is a two-handed medium-range axe that is on about the same level as the heavy mace. However, this one gets bumped up thanks to its faster swinging animation, which makes it a more damaging weapon in the right hands.

It's more effective against undefended enemies, like Vanguards and Footmen, though the lack of a shield leaves the Knight open for Archers. If the player can manage to close the distance on an Archer, though, the battle axe can take them out in one clean overhead swing.

1 Two-Handed Hammer – Nadziak

The two-handed hammer is the best weapon for Knights in Chivalry 2 because it lets the player take full advantage of its capabilities. It keeps the player in close combat, despite being a two-handed weapon. It also has the highest damage of any close-range weapon.

The best part of the two-handed hammer, though, is the huge chance for skull-crushing instant kills. The head of the hammer is massive, and the huge hitbox makes it easy to aim above the enemy neckline for near-guaranteed head explosions.
