During today's Gearbox E3 broadcast, the developer revealed new details about several projects, including Tiny Tina's Wonderlands and the Borderlands movie. Alongside both teasers, the publisher announced several new updates concerning Godfall, most notably confirming a PlayStation 4 port will launch this summer. However, the segment also confirmed a new expansion is coming, with the add-on titled Fire and Darkness.

The upcoming DLC will launch on August 10 and will offer players the chance to venture into a new part of Godfall's world. According to Senior Technical Producer Dick Heyne, the story content will take players to the Fire Realm for the first time, where they'll discover new enemies, challenging bosses, cosmetics, and more.

Alongside the add-on, Counterplay Games confirmed the title will also be getting a free update titled Lightbringer. Heyne said the addition will see players faced with new threats attacking Imperion, with their reward for facing these enemies being a new type of loot. The Senior Technical Producer reveals that pieces of this loot will require players to overcome challenges to dispel a curse and "awaken them." The free update will also come loaded with all-new cosmetic items.

Finally, Heyne announced the team will officially be adding matchmaking to the game, ensuring players struggling with certain parts of Godfall can call in backup at any time. It seems Godfall's support will continue for the foreseeable future, with Gearbox promising fans of the PlayStation 5 launch game that an array of new content is coming.

Godfall is out now on PC and PlayStation 5, with a PlayStation 4 version launching on August 10.
