Adhesive is an essential material in Fallout 76. If players find themselves constantly running low, they might want to try these methods.

Adhesive has a wide range of applications in Fallout 76. Players will need adhesive to create explosives, weapon modifications, and a ton of other useful items. Because the material is an essential ingredient for so many things, sole survivors will need to collect a fair amount of it.

There are four different ways to acquire adhesive. The first is by killing and looting Gulpers and Honey Beasts. Another option is cooking and scrapping vegetable starch. Similarly, various lootable items in Fallout 76 produce adhesive when scrapped. Finally, people can harvest digested goo from Giant Pitcher Plants and scrap the resource for adhesive. Here's every survivor's guide to each of these methods.

The recipe for vegetable starch is quite simple. Gamers will need to collect the following items:

Obviously, a cooking station is essential too. For those that do not have one, the materials needed are listed below. To craft upgraded stations, players will need to build them in the new C.A.M.P./workshop or acquire a recipe. All have the same requirements.

  • Steel x2
  • Wood x2

Each vegetable starch can be scrapped into two adhesive. Because this method has the most steps and requires four different ingredients, it can be time consuming. To cut down on the time it takes to gather the the above materials, survivors may want to consider creating a vegetable starch farm.

All that is needed for a starch farm is a water source and the above items to re-plant. Photosynthesis will occur if plants have dirt, water, and sunlight. Using fertilizer will help, but it is not necessary for new players.

With about 10-20 of each plant, creating starch and producing adhesive will be even easier than farming the resource in the wild. This method will take some time up front, but it is the fastest way to produce adhesive once a healthy harvest crops up.

These magnificent bulbous plants provide digested goo when harvested. The goo from each plant produces a total of four adhesive when scrapped, twice that of vegetable starch. If people equip the Green Thumb perk, they can get a total of eight adhesive per plant. This method is by far the most fruitful and efficient of the four.

Players should look for these plants in the Cranberry Bog and begin their search near the Big Bend Tunnel East. By traveling east, gamers will be able to spot a dozen or so of the plants as they make their way across the bog. In just a few minutes, anyone can get over 100 adhesive by scrapping all of the goo.

Both these creatures have a chance to drop adhesive or junk. Honey Beasts roam the Toxic Valley, Mire, and sometimes the Forest in Appalachia. The Honey Beasts drop an item called excessive adhesive, which can be scrapped for adhesive or sold after being bulked at the workbench. Gulpers are found in the Mire and Cranberry Bog. While harvesting those Giant Pitchers, killing a few Gulpers will give survivors a little more adhesive.

Unlike Honey Beasts, Gulpers will not drop adhesive, but can drop junk that produces adhesive when scrapped. Overall, seeking out these creatures for adhesive is much more of a hassle than harvesting plants. Players have to worry about dying, and may not even get adhesive from each beast.

Various junk in Fallout 76 converts into adhesive when scrapped. Junk is everywhere on the map, so finding it will not be an issue. One of the better places to look is in Clancy Manor in the north end. There, people will be able to consistently find a lot of junk to scrap and use for crafting. On the second floor, gamers will want to be on the look out for a couple of specific items.

  • Wonderglue (Economy/Sealed)
  • Military Grade Duct Tape

Clancy Manor is just one of many locations that frequently spawn the above items. Survivors that come across Wonderglue and Duct Tape should make a mental note of that location so they can revisit it whenever they need more adhesive.
