WandaVision star Elizabeth Olsen says that the Disney Plus series isn't slated for a second season despite the Marvel show's popularity.

While some WandaVision fans have long been hoping that the Disney Plus series would get a second season, that doesn't appear to be in the cards. Elizabeth Olsen recently confirmed that the "limited series" moniker is sticking around, meaning sad news for fans hoping for more of the series.

WandaVision was always billed as a "limited series," though there were enough cliffhangers that some fans believed Marvel had rethought its approach. The series also introduced several characters who are poised to appear in the MCU outside of WandaVision. Despite the theories about a potential second season eventually arriving on Disney Plus, Olsen stated that season 1 is the only one that will air.

Olsen recently had a conversation through Variety with The Flight Attendant star Kaley Cuoco, where she spilled the beans about no WandaVision season 2. When Cuoco asked Olsen about whether she expected a second season, the latter made it very clear she didn't believe that plan was in the works. "No. No. It's definitely a limited series," she said. However, Cuoco then pointed out that her own show was originally supposed to be a limited series as well. However, HBO Max recently announced it had scheduled a second season for The Flight Attendant.

Olsen then backpedaled a bit on her certainty. She said that she believed WandaVision is only getting one season, but she isn't privy to any kind of inside information. She added that when it comes to Marvel, people are never certain of what might be planned for the future. She then pointed to her own show and talked about how people died before trailing off. The implication there was that The Vision died in The Avengers movie series, only to return for the Disney Plus show.

Cuoco noticed that Olsen, who played one of the show's titular characters in Wanda Maximoff, walked back her rather definite comments about no other seasons of WandaVision. The Flight Attendant and Big Bang Theory star lamented that she thought she'd gotten a bombshell exclusive just then.

However, Olsen's comments seem to confirm both what Marvel and one of her co-stars had said previously. Not only has the show always been billed as a limited series, but Paul Bettany, who has played The Vision since the character's MCU debut, recently said he's not contracted to play the hero in any other projects. While he didn't rule out eventually returning if Marvel wanted him to do so, the comments seem to confirm the end of WandaVision for now.

WandaVision is now available on Disney Plus.
