A TikTok user catches a glimpse of an Easter egg hidden within the multiplayer teaser trailer for Halo Infinite that is a nod to older Halo titles.

Halo fans were treated to an in-depth look at the upcoming game Halo Infinite during E3 on June 13th, 2021. During a long presentation of all things Microsoft including an upcoming Xbox exclusive from Bethesda called Starfield, Halo was a big focus after an additional year of development time following the game's delay out of 2020. Microsoft and 343 Industries featured multiple trailers, one showcasing the campaign with Master Chief and another finally revealing the free-to-play multiplayer component.

Along with detailed graphics, hints at gameplay, and even some information on how Halo Infinite will have bots to help players learn multiplayer, players finally got a great look at what this new Halo title will look like in multiplayer. But inside of the multiplayer trailer, one fan noticed a nod to older Halo games that most gamers probably missed during the presentation.

In the multiplayer trailer for Halo Infinite, about 45 seconds into the two-and-a-quarter minute video, a fan on TikTok filmed a great detail for fans of the series. Written on the front of an Academy building is the name "Avery J. Johnson Academy of Military Science." As fans of the series know, Sergeant Major Avery J. Johnson is a Marine in the past games that leads human forces to war against the Flood and Covenant. The TikTok showing the discovery can be seen here.

This brave soldier was an important part of the whole Great War, and he died during the mission to recover Halo's Cortana. The last fans heard of him was seeing a photo of the Sergeant Major on the Hillside Memorial, where fallen warriors of the Great War were memorialized. Given that the Academy, shown briefly in the multiplayer trailer, is named after him, he is not forgotten. He seems to have been given quite the honor before the beginnings of Halo Infinite's story.

While Halo Infinite was supposed to be a launch title for the Xbox Series S and X, a series of unfortunate delays plagued the title's timeline. The trailers displayed at E3 this year seemed to focus on what the Halo Infinite delay has given to players: the trailers showed off beautiful, high-end, next-gen graphics and intense multiplayer action.

With this new Easter egg come to light by TikTok user hiddengamingdetails, it should impress those fans of the series with the attention to detail and nods to the older games. Hopefully, if there are no more delays, fans will have a copy of this new chapter in their hands before the end of the year.

Halo Infinite is planned to release in Fall 2021 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
