Just like any open-world RPG, Biomutant has its share of secrets and hidden details. Here are a few you might not have noticed.

The developers behind Biomutant spent years creating this title, as do many developers that create the games players know and love. Throughout this development process, developers don't just create linear paths. A lot of the details the developers place in the game require a bit more effort to find.

It may be unfortunate that these secrets escape many players, but it is also very rewarding for those who take the time to explore. In Biomutant, there are a lot of powerful weapons, various equipment, hidden locations, and surprising mechanics that are elusive to all but the game's most dedicated players.

10 The Batnam-Nam

The Batnam-Nam is a vehicle the players can unlock in the game. Although the game considers the Batnam-Nam a vehicle, it functions very similarly as a mount. It does, however, have one very interesting attribute.

Unlike the other mounts in the game, the Batnam-Nam can glide through the air. Once mounted, the player can jump from great heights and glide a vast distance, similar to how a typical airglider would work. Players can unlock the Batnam-Nam by completing Peeble's side quests.

9 The Gullblimp

The Gullblimp is a vehicle in Biomutant that is unlike any other. There's one particular biome in the game called the Kluppy Dunes, and some areas in this location can only be accessed while flying with the Gullblimp. Unfortunately, this vehicle can also only be spawned here.

To unlock the Gullblimp, the player simply needs to head to the Blimpstation and speak to Lobo. Lobo will then give the players a series of side quests. Completing these will reward the player with the Gullblimp vehicle.

8 Mutation Pools

Mutation Pools are hidden areas in Biomutant that allow players to alter their appearance, without affecting the base stats. During the game's character creation section, a lot of players may want to make their characters look a specific way, but are unable to do so because it doesn't match the starting stats they want.

With the mutation pools, the player is now free of that restriction. Mutation Pools are located deep within abandoned power plants that are placed in biohazard zones.

7 The Pee-Wee Gargantua

The Pee-Wee Gargantua is one of only two vehicles the players can use to traverse the game's oceanic areas, or surfs, as the game calls them. Unlike the Googlide, however, the Pee-Wee Gargantua isn't unlocked during the main quest storyline. Instead, the player will need to explore a bit further and do a fun side quest to earn this reward.

Players unlock the Pee-Wee Gargantua after they complete Gill's side quests. This vehicle is capable of traversing even contaminated waters without being damaged or compromised.

6 The Back Armor That Allows Hovering

A handful of areas in the game will make the players wish they were hovering instead of walking, or especially swimming. What a lot of players don't know is that there is actually a specific back armor in the game that provides this exact mechanic.

Players can find the Helipack back armor in the Blimpstation. They can also simply purchase this from the Gear Wear Broker. The ability to hover makes the traversal aspect of the game much more layered, which adds to the experience. It is an open-world game, after all.

5 The Pri Murgel Sword

The Pri Murgel Sword is one of the many unique weapons in the game. The players can pick this powerful two-handed slash melee weapon up in a secret cave, which they can discover much more easily via the Illumination side quest.

Players can unlock this side quest after they talk with Mui, an NPC located near a place called Anywhere. The Illumination side quest is one of the game's most mysterious, and will allow them to uncover so many hidden locations throughout the world.

4 Joining The Rival Tribe

The tribes in Biomutant play a central role in the game's main campaign. Very early on, the players are given the chance to choose between two rival tribes. Joining one will disallow them to join the rival tribe – unless they know the loophole to this process.

It's only revealed later on, but there are actually six tribes in Biomutant. Should the player wish to join their current tribe's rival instead, they must simply find a neutral tribe's main outpost, join that tribe, and then abandon them to join the former tribe's rival.

3 Traces Of Humankind

When looking at the game's aesthetics and cute furry characters, it is easy to forget that the game actually has a tragic and telling backstory. This post-apocalyptic has a very dark history, and certain secrets in the game highlight this very fact.

At various sections throughout the game, the player will encounter human skeletal remains either laid bare on the floor, trapped in public restrooms, or laying in their beds. These are reminders that the world before was inhabited by humans until their untimely, inevitable demise.

2 Sol's Trunk

Sol's Trunk is another back armor that adds another layer to the game's traversal mechanic. This incredible item will give the players the ability to fly by open the trunk, activating its propeller device, and riding it.

To get this back armor, the player needs to find Sol, an NPC located in Out-and-About. The player must then do the NPCs quest in order to obtain this back armor piece.

1 Just Like Mario & Yoshi

Whether intentionally or not, the game pays a small homage to Mario, one of the most popular video game characters of all time. One of Mario's most known moves is actually quite savage the more fans think about it. When playing Mario and riding Yoshi, the players can reach greater heights by jumping off the dinosaur's back, sending the creature to its demise.

Players can use this very same mechanic in Biomutant. When mounting and jumping a wide gap, the player can simply jump off from their mounts in order to gain a considerable boost. Thankfully, the player's mount doesn't exactly die from this. They can simply spawn back again.
