Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin players are able to use the Lightbringer ability from the start, but the tutorial doesn't explain it well.

There's a lot of customization available to players in the PS5 demo for Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin, but there are some things that the player can't change. One example of this is the Lightbringer command ability. Jack starts with this ability unlocked right when the player gains control of him, and there's even a section of the in game tutorial that explains how to use it and what it does. Unfortunately, most players are still figuring out the basics of the game at this point, so this tutorial doesn't make a ton of sense just yet.

Odds are, many Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin players have opted to ignore the Lightbringer command ability for the most part, but it can be extremely useful when used correctly. Players always have access to this ability no matter what job they are playing as, and its effects remain the same in all cases.

By default, Lightbringer can be activated by holding L2 and pressing Circle. This consumes one bar of mana, lowering the player's maximum mana by the same amount, but wreathes Jack in reddish energy and pushes nearby enemies back. While the ability is active, Jack's Break Gauge is replaced by a red bar that slowly decreases on its own. Jack cannot be broken during this time, but getting hit will reduce the bar still and make the ability end early. This makes it useful defensively, as players can activate it in a tight spot to prevent Jack from getting broken.

Offensively, the Lightbringer buff provides two major advantages. First, all hits will do more damage to an enemy's Break Gauge while simultaneously reducing their maximum Break Gauge. This makes it incredible for breaking enemies, which in turn can restore the MP that players spent to activate the ability in the first place. Second, any enemy that is killed by an attack while Lightbringer is activated will automatically be Soul Bursted (turned into red crystals and exploded). This restores Jack's mana and increases his maximum mana just like a normal Soul Burst.

Since this effect does reduce maximum mana, players may be inclined to use it less often, but it's usually worth the trade off. As long as the player can manage to kill one or two enemies while in this stance, they should get their mana back. It also has other effects once players unlock certain abilities in the job tree. For example, Black Mages don't stagger while charging spells in Lightbringer stance and they have skills that let them charge their spells faster.
