Overwatch fans can unlock a new look for Ashe this week, as the hero is getting her own special Challenge themed around the Deadlock Gang.

Overwatch players hoping for Ashe to get a new skin are in luck, as Blizzard has confirmed that there will be a special event centered on the character next week. However, Overwatch fans have been given minimal insight into what this special Challenge will entail.

Given Overwatch’s past Challenge events, one thing players can expect is for the rewards to follow the usual format. In the Kanezaka challenge that happened back in January, players received a player icon for getting three wins. They could then go on to unlock a special spray at six wins, with nine wins giving them access to Hanzo’s special Kyogisha outfit. For the PachiMarchi event, players received an icon, emote, and Roadhog skin if they were able to rack up nine wins. With this in mind, Ashe’s event will likely feature a similar objective when it kicks off on June 22.

It can be expected that the items for three wins and six wins will take the form of Overwatch’s emotes, poses, sprays, or player icons. For nine wins, gamers can anticipate a new outfit for the gunslinger, with Blizzard teasing as much in the announcement of the challenge. In the teaser video, a silhouette of Ashe can be seen against a yellow and black background. The colors of the Deadlock gang, it seems likely that her outfit will be heavily based on the group. As such, players may see the yellow and black color palette throughout, with the Deadlock logo likely appearing somewhere on her jacket.

Players may also be seeing a younger version of Ashe with this skin, as McCree has a Deadlock skin of his own that depicts him during his younger years. The two were close during their time in the gang, and gamers would surely enjoy making the two damage heroes wear some matching Deadlock outfits. As is the case with other Ashe skins, the event outfit may also reimagine her robotic butler, Bob. With the Omnic serving as her ultimate ability, he gets plenty of time to show off his own outfits in the hero shooter.

With other hero Challenges bringing pieces of lore along with them, such as Tracer’s Comic Challenge and Symmetra’s Restoration Challenge, it will be interesting to see if Ashe’s does the same. With the hero’s story not progressing much since she was first added, she could certainly benefit from an Overwatch comic book or short story. Either way, fans of the hero should be happy to see her getting a special event of her own, and it will be interesting to see what her new cosmetics look like.

Fortunately, the Overwatch community will have plenty of time to unlock the new items. Ashe’s Deadlock Challenge runs until July 5, giving gamers two weeks to collect everything the event has to offer.

Overwatch is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
