Last year, rumors started swirling that FromSoftware's critically-acclaimed Bloodborne would be getting an official PS5 upgrade alongside a PC port. Nothing official has been announced yet, but rumors persist thanks to regular "leaks" about the Bloodborne PS5 remaster and what exactly it may entail. The latest Bloodborne PS5 leak comes from French Twitter user SoulsHunt, who has offered some new information on what the game has in store for fans.
Like with any video game rumor, fans should take this information with a massive grain of salt. According to SoulsHunt (who accurately leaked Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin prior to its reveal), the Bloodborne PS5 remaster is not being developed by Bluepoint Games or FromSoftware, but it is still said to be "ambitious." The specific developer working on the game was not revealed by SoulsHunt, but they believe the Bloodborne PS5 remaster will launch at some point later this year, with a PC version coming even later.

The Bloodborne PC port has been rumored for quite some time as well, gaining steam thanks to Sony releasing its PlayStation exclusive games on PC. Neither the Bloodborne PC port nor the rumored PS5 version have been officially announced, and so those wanting to play an upgraded version of the classic game will want to keep their expectations in check for now.
In the meantime, some Bloodborne fans may have already played the original game to death and would rather play a sequel on the PS5 instead. Unfortunately for those wanting to play a Bloodborne sequel, SoulsHunt says that FromSoftware is not making Bloodborne 2, citing the developer's desire to work on original IP instead. FromSoftware definitely does seem to prefer working on new IP, and while there were three Dark Souls games released, the studio has also launched Demon's Souls, Bloodborne, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice in the same timeframe, with Elden Ring on the way next year.
If the Bloodborne PS5 remaster is real and coming this year, then fans should expect an announcement sooner rather than later. There are rumors that a new PlayStation State of Play event is going to take place at some point next month, though Sony has yet to actually announce it at the time of this writing.
There are a lot of rumors going around about Sony State of Play events and a Bloodborne PS5 remaster, but fans should avoid getting too excited until they get official word. While they wait, they can play the original Bloodborne on PS5 through the PlayStation Plus Collection lineup.
Bloodborne is out now, exclusively for PS4.
