It has been barely two weeks since the launch of Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade for the Playstation 5, and fans of the RPG seem to be hit hard with nostalgia. Not only does the platform-exclusive Yuffie Kisaragi episode bring back familiar characters, and even provide new story content, but the base game itself helps fans continue to relive the glory days of Final Fantasy 7. Recently, a gamer shared one such nostalgic photo that featured a familiar van which fans may recognize from the iconic car chase scene in the game’s remake and original versions.

Before the release of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, Square Enix seemed to make sure that its loyal followers had every incentive to make the platform upgrade. The company provided transferable save files from the PS4 to PS5, even providing a free item pack that gave players bonus summon materia and five extra accessories. With Final Fantasy 7 now crossing through decades of gamer generations, from the original PlayStation to the PS5, fans will likely enjoy spotting game elements that remind them of the RPG within the realm of real life.

Sharing on the Final Fantasy 7 Remake subReddit, user JoergenFS posted a photo of a truck that they spotted on the street. At first glance, the truck looks like any other typical one, but FF7 fans would likely recognize the vehicle from when the gang of Cloud, Red 13, Tifa, Aerith, and Barrett escape from the Shinra building in Midgar. The van has the same light green color, complete with the open space in the back, just like a pick-up truck.

Many of the commenters on the Reddit thread expressed their joy in seeing the photo. Some even joked that Cloud Strife’s signature Hardy Daytona had been replaced by a bicycle, given that there was one in the back of the photographed truck. One hardcore FF7 van even mentioned that the real-life truck had too many wheels, given that the original Final Fantasy 7 version only had one wheel in the front.

Nevertheless, such photos and reactions by the game’s community provides a good indication of how deeply ingrained the title is in its fans’ hearts. And it seems Square Enix knows this, as it continues to provide more incentive for players to keep patronizing any FF7 content that it produces. With the hype from Intergrade most likely diminishing soon, hopefully the developers share more information about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, to sustain fan engagement and activity.
