Crafting the Eternal Lockpick in Persona 5 can save players a lot of time wasted at the workbench, and ensure no loot is left behind.

Persona 5 and its bumper edition, Persona 5 Royal, have won the hearts of many gamers. It's only fitting, as changing hearts while exploring Palaces as the plucky Phantom Thieves is also the main story of this stylish JRPG.

These dungeon areas contain many chests that require lockpicks in order to to open. So, crafting an Eternal Lockpick is a smart decision for anyone who hates leaving loot behind. Here's how to find the materials, craft the item, and use it to its best advatage.

The Eternal Lockpick in Persona 5 is true to its name, and never breaks after use. This means players don't have to choose between crafting a limited amount of regular lockpicks, and performing another activity.

Lockpicks shouldn’t be ignored as they open chests that could contain new weapons, armor, or other treasures. A little bit of time invested in making one soon will save lots of time that can be spent on more rewarding activities later.

The 3 things needed to craft the Eternal Lockpick are:

  • A level 6 social link with Morgana
  • 20 Aluminium Sheets
  • 10 Liquid Mercury

The easiest of these requirements is reaching level 6 with Morgana (the Magician Confidant). This naturally occurs on August 29. The ‘Ace Tools’ ability will unlock and players can now craft every type of Infiltration Tool, including the Eternal Lockpick.

Next, players will need to get 20 Aluminium Sheets and 10 Liquid Mercury to craft this time-saving instrument.

The best method to farm Aluminium Sheets is to wait for torrential rain/thunderstorms, because bad weather increases the drop rate for rare items.

During bad weather, search objects on the Path of Kaitul in Mementos. This area contains the most item boxes, and they have the possibility to drop Aluminium Sheets. Persona 5 Royal players can use stamps with Jose to increase item drops further.

Liquid Mercury is a rarer drop, but less is needed to make the Eternal Lockpick, so this balances the collection times. The best method to farm Liquid Mercury is to go into Mementos during bad weather. Head to the upper levels of the Path of Akzeriyyuth (level 10 or 11 is a safe bet) and fight Anubis enemies.

After acquiring 20 Aluminium Sheets, 10 Liquid Mercury, and achieving a level 6 social link with Morgana, go to the workbench in Joker's bedroom to craft the Eternal Lockpick.
