Apex Legends teases the return of the fan-favorite Skull Town location that was removed last year as part of the game's Season 5 update.

The maps in battle royale games are constantly changing with multiple updates, and Apex Legends is no different. While this does keep the game feeling fresh for longtime players, some Apex Legends players have come to miss some of the game's more famous locations.

Apex Legends has a variety of different maps that rotate with each update. Each map has its entirely own character and spread of locations for players to visit and battle throughout. New maps and locations in Apex Legends have leaked before, and many players eagerly look for news on what maps and locations they can expect to visit next.

Now, the official Apex Legends Twitter account has started teasing that fan-favorite location Skull Town may be coming back. Skull Town is beloved throughout the fanbase for its infamously chaotic battles over the high-level loot that spawned there. Back in April Apex Legends players called for Skull Town to return to the game as a map for the game's new Arenas mode. Of course, there is no indication of what form Skull Town may take if Apex Legends brings the location back, but it could very well appear either as an Arenas mode map or a location put back into one of the game's various maps.

The responses to the tweet have been largely positive. Fans of Skull Town have been pining for the location's return ever since Apex Legends Season 5 destroyed it back in May of last year. Kings Canyon was the only map available in Apex Legends when it launched back in 2019 and has significantly changed over years of updates and adjustments. This has led to some responses to the Skull Town hint from players calling for Kings Canyon to come back to the game in its original form. It would be interesting to see what going back to the original map will all of Apex Legends' new characters and weapons would be like for players, even if it was just as a limited-time mode.

Of course, Apex Legends is no stranger to teasing upcoming game updates. Earlier this month Apex Legends developers teased the next slate of balance tweaks coming to the game, so it would be surprising if the tweet did not lead to Skull Town's return. It will be interesting to see if it returns to Kings Canyon or if it is segregated into its very own map in the battle royale's popular new Arenas mode. Hopefully, Apex Legends players will get some news on what the plan for Skull Town is soon.

Apex Legends is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Switch, and Xbox One.
