Forza Horizon 5 is set to release on November 5, but many fans wonder if the game is coming to other platforms besides Microsoft's.

At this year's E3, racing fans got a treat when Turn 10 studios announced the latest in the Forza series, Forza Horizon 5. The casual street racing series spin-off from the main motorsport titles sees players take to the streets of Mexico on November 5. Though this title brings new features to the series, what remains the same as other Forza games is that it will only be available for Xbox and PC players.

Since the original Forza Motorsport back in 2005, this series has been developed by Turn 10 studios and published by Microsoft Game Studios. Unfortunately, for those who exclusively own PlayStation consoles, this means the games have been inaccessible for years. In fact, this series only had its first game brought to PC back in 2015 with Forza Motorsport 6.

With exclusives such as MLB The Show finding its way over to Xbox, PlayStation players were likely hopeful that Forza might come over to their console. But, at the moment, Forza remains out of reach for PlayStation players. Unfortunately, that means that they do not need to look forward to the release of Forza Horizon 5 on November 5, 2021.

Though there is no way of playing any Forza game on a PlayStation, those players certainly have other options. PlayStation offers several alternatives for those looking to scratch the racing game itch. The Need for Speed franchise is a great option for PlayStation players. Need for Speed Heat is available right now across consoles, and it throws players into an open-world environment known as Palm City.

In a similar vein, Gran Turismo 7 was shown at Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal stream on June 11, 2020. The Gran Turismo series has always been a PlayStation exclusive, and its latest title will come to PS5 in 2022. Neither of these series are exact replacements for the casual racing in Forza Horizon 5. But both game series are solid standards in the racing genre. The new releases should work relatively well for those PlayStation players looking for a replacement for Forza Horizon.

Forza Horizon 5 brings players back to North America for the first time since 2012. Players will be able to travel across Mexico, drive along beautiful beaches, and discover ancient ruins along the way. The game also features the city of Guanajuato with its tunnels, twisting alleys, and numerous plazas as well.

This game is set to feature the largest map yet in the Forza Horizon series. On top of this, the developer promises a new Expedition mode and a new feature called Events Lab. This feature allows players to create their own game modes, experiences, and races. Unfortunately for PlayStation players, it seems unlikely this series will ever get across consoles.

Forza Horizon 5 launches November 5 for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
