Prices for some of the earlier Onimushagames are spiking following Capcom's announcement of Onimusha: Way of the Sword at the 2024 Game Awards. Onimushaserved as one of Capcom's prime action franchises through the early-mid 2000s, but has taken a serious backseat for the past twenty-or-so years. The most recent major title in the series to be released was 2006's Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams on PlayStation 2, but the franchise is seeing a surge of interest with the recent announcement of an all-new game.
