One of Halo Infinite's customization options is added to Halo: Master Chief Collection alongside the Season 7 update, dubbed Elite.

Halo Infinite was one of the biggest games of E3 this year, with Xbox showing off a healthy chunk of the game's multiplayer during the week-long event. Of the new content shown off, Halo Infinite's character customization was a focus, with 343 Industries highlighting just some of the combinations that are possible in the game. Now, one of those options has made it to Halo: Master Chief Collection.

Right now, the Keystone helmet is available for Master Chief Collection players to claim for free, adding an additional option for them to use in Halo 4 matches. The Keystone helmet has been heavily featured in marketing material, being one of the first armor items shown off in Halo Infinite screenshots following the game's graphical overhauls.

Aesthetically, the Keystone helmet falls in line with armor designs found in Halo 3 and Halo Reach, rather than the more futuristic designs featured in Halo 4 and 5. The return to the "practical" stylings featured in the original Halo games has been well-received, and being granted the item for free appears to be the icing on the cake for Master Chief Collection players. Halo Infinite is slated to launch this fall, but it's possible that more of its customization options could be added before then.

To get the helmet, players just need to load up Master Chief Collection, head over to The Exchange, and claim it for free. It doesn't cost any season points and will be available to use right after it's claimed. It'll likely be showing up in matches quite a bit for the next few weeks, but it is one of the more detailed options currently found in Halo: Master Chief Collection at large.

The Keystone helmet comes alongside a bevy of other customization content, which is being added as part of Season 7: Elite. The new season puts a heavy emphasis on customization options for Elite players, something that's been largely neglected compared to the Spartan options that have been added to the game in the time since Halo: Master Chief Collection launched.

In the past, Halo: Master Chief Collection has been used as something of a testing ground for new concepts, many of which may make their way into Halo Infinite. For instance, Halo Infinite's battle pass system sounds nearly identical to the one featured in Master Chief Collection, which 343 Industries has refined over the course of its seven seasons. Those refinements should ultimately make Halo Infinite a better game.
