Now that Avowedhas been released, the gaming world's focus is back on the big-budget first-person RPG and how it has evolved and changed in its decades-long lifespan. Though it can be janky, it's hard to deny how immersive it can be when done right, even resulting in some of the most satisfying combat systems that RPGs have to offer.
