Destiny 2 has been getting a lot of attention lore-wise and in terms of storytelling, with new Seasons making for very interesting additions.

Destiny 2 has been doling out incredible storytelling and lore pages with its Season-based system for a while now. Ever since Beyond Light dropped back in November 2020, the story has been in a great spot. Season of the Splicer is one of the most interesting seasons to date mainly because of the Fallen from the House of Light, the character development of prominent NPCs, and a compelling overarching story about to tie some loose ends. Destiny 2 players are likely looking at a conflict with the Vex Taken Mind named Quria, who was first created by the Vex to understand the Hive's sword-logic and was gifted by Orys to a dreadful enemy of mankind: Savathun.

Next week, Destiny 2 is hinting at a showdown against Lakshmi-2 and Quria as well. Guardians know that the Endless Night was never the Vex's plan, but was instead caused by Quria's infestation of the network. With the Vex Mind being a servant of Savathun, and last week's lore page from the Hive God of trickery revealing that she is walking in human form in the Last City, it's time to talk about Osiris. The legendary Guardian has been a bit off ever since the beginning of the Season of the Hunt, when he was on the Moon in Hive territory and mysteriously lost his Light due to his Ghost, Sagira, dying to protect Osiris.

It has been going on for a while this theory that Osiris might actually be Savathun in disguise, and it seems more believable by the minute thanks to a series of little puzzle pieces coming together. Osiris was one of the main characters in Season of the Chosen as well, and when the Guardians explored the Glykon through the Presage secret Exotic mission in several different iterations, that storyline culminated with the Crown of Sorrow being found within the heart of the ship. Again, Osiris pushed to contain it and keep it rather than destroying this Darkness artifact, which is not exactly what a worshipper of the Light should have hoped to do.

Then, history repeated itself last week, when Mithrax unraveled the secrets of the Vex network and revealed that the whole thing was connected to Quria, who Osiris wants to capture instead of destroying it. This only adds to a plethora of smaller and bigger warning signs that are linked to Osiris, and this week's Path of the Splicer mission in Destiny 2 reveals yet another disconcerting detail during a conversation between the Warlock and Saint-14. Here, Osiris is sort of manipulating Saint-14 into believing that a new Vanguard led by the Exo Titan would be a great new start for the Last City, with Osiris telling Saint to pretend he's willing to accept Lakshmi-2's coup proposal.

That's not all though, as Osiris also prevented Mithrax to take a look at Lakshmi's Vex tech, and then he was also granted access by Ikora to archives of confidential intel. On top of that, the Last City's people and Lakshmi have been singing what must be Savathun's Song, which complicates things a lot and shows how much the Hive God's influence has grown over time, unknowingly broadcasted by Future War Cult. Furthermore, when Lakshmi's coup was first revealed this Season, she mentioned that she was friends with someone powerful enough to allow for the transition to go as smoothly as possible.

Whether that person is Osiris is not confirmed, but with all the evidence against him that was built over the past three Seasons it's hard to see the Warlock as a trustworthy person, even if he is not Savathun in disguise. This is likely to be confirmed or disconfirmed next week, so Destiny 2 fans might want to keep an eye on the 8th week of the Season of the Splicer.

Destiny 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
