Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 has yet to be shown to the public, but the original FF7 game gives fans a good idea of what areas to expect.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a retelling of the original Final Fantasy 7's stories, sticking to the major story beats while also introducing some significant changes as well. It vastly expands the Mdigar section of the original game, with the entirety of Final Fantasy 7 Remake taking place within the city. However, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 will see the party leave Midgar for new areas, and thanks to the original game, we have a solid idea of what those areas will be.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2's length is unclear at this point, as it has yet to be properly revealed by Square Enix. However, it's still possible to make a pretty good guess about what areas will be included in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 based on the events of the original.

Please keep in mind that this post has SPOILERS for Final Fantasy 7.

The end of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and the Intermission DLC shows the party traveling to the village of Kalm, which is a small village located just outside Midgar. Since Kalm is not nearly as big as Midgar, Final Fantasy 7 fans shouldn't expect it to be significantly expanded in the same way that Midgar was. However, Kalm will still likely be a very important stop for the Final Fantasy 7 characters, as it is there when Cloud recounts his past with the villainous Sephiroth.

After exploring Kalm, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 will likely let players check out the nearby Chocobo Farm, as well as the Mythril Mine. The Mythril Mine is notable because it's the first area where players meet the Turk Elena, who was nowhere to be seen in the first Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

The next stop for the Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 party will be Junon, where players will likely be able to participate in a revamped version of the parade mini-game from the original FF7Final Fantasy 7 Remake had plenty of mini-games, and so they are likely a good reference of what to expect when it comes to the Junon parade. Again, it seems unlikely that Junon will get fleshed out nearly as much as Midgar did in the first Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and so it's possible the party might not spend a ton of time here before sneaking onto the Cargo Shipping and heading to Costa del Sol.

It's quite possible that the tropical city of Costa del Sol and the surrounding areas could be what gets the Midgar treatment in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2. Costa del Sol will serve as the jumping-off point that will see the party visit Mount Corel and eventually get thrown in Corel Prison, but it will also be the section of the game that will feature the Gold Saucer.

The Gold Saucer theme park is going to be hugely important in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 (assuming the story gets this far), as it will be where Cait Sith joins the party. Cait Sith will be the first new party member in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, which should make the Gold Saucer visit especially exciting. Unless Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 features from the story in a significant way, the Gold Saucer will likely be visited at least a couple of times in the game.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 will next take players through Gongaga, Cosmo Canyon, and Nibelheim. Now, it's entirely possible that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 won't get this far, especially considering how little ground was covered in the first game, but it seems like Remake Part 2 will have more forward momentum. While there were good reasons to spend a lot of extra time in Midgar, the same can't necessarily be said for these smaller areas.

In any case, if Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 manages to get to Nibelheim, it's likely that players will be able to explore Shinra Manor. And if that's the case, they will more likely than not meet Vincent Valentine and add him to their growing party of playable characters. If Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 sticks to the original when it comes to Vincent Valentine's introduction, Cloud and company will likely find him in the Shinra Manor's basement.

However, one key difference will likely be that Vincent will no longer be an optional party member. The more likely scenario is that Vincent will be a required party member this time around, and the same likely goes for Yuffie as well.

Speaking of party members, it's possible that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 will also make it to Rocket Town, the city where players meet and recruit Cid Highwind. Cid Highwind's personality will likely be toned down for his appearance in the Final Fantasy 7 Remake games, as he was a foul-mouthed chain-smoker in the original, but that remains to be seen. And since nothing all that climactic happens in Rocket Town besides meeting Cid, many fans believe that the natural stopping point for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 is the next area that the party reaches in the game.

The Temple of the Ancients is a massively important area in the original Final Fantasy 7, as it is the area where Sephiroth gets his hands on the Black Materia. It's also when Aerith splits up from the party, which seems like a logical stopping point for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2, ending things on a cliffhanger to be resolved in the likely Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 2 is in development.
