Prominent Twitch streamer Amouranth reveals the harassment surrounding her Hot Tub and ASMR streams has led her to consider quitting.

Prominent Twitch streamer Amouranth has revealed that she's considered quitting streaming altogether recently. The popular Twitch personality cites the ongoing harassment from her controversial hot tub and ASMR streams as the main reason for the contemplation.

Amouranth, whose real name is Kaitlyn Siragusa, has made a name for herself on Twitch by putting out arguably risque content and streams that skirt around the streaming platform's guidelines. The streamer has recently come off a multi-day ban for the previously mentioned ASMR streams, which consisted of Amouranth suggestively licking her microphone in yoga poses in exchange for new subscribers.

In a recent interview with Polygon, the streamer gives some insight as to how she's coped with her harassers and multiple Twitch bans. “I have thought about it — like, is it worth it?” says Siragusa, in reference to continuing on the platform. However, she is ultimately deciding to stick it out regardless, saying that "every job has stuff that isn't peachy-keen perfect," and most industries must deal with their fair share of "Karens" in some capacity. While she doesn't feel like she is deserving of the rampant harassment she receives, Amouranth's newfound resolve is to "frontload" her career as a streamer and content creator, rather than evenly spread it throughout her life.

Siragusa, who recently had her ad revenue somewhat reinstated, says the money she is saving from what she's doing now will eventually go towards starting an animal rescue program, which she says is her true passion. The streamer talks about how animal rescues too commonly lack enough support or funding, due to a majority of such rescues being operated by social media-inept "boomers." She says that she'll eventually transition using her multi-platform expertise to the animal rescue industry, but is currently stashing away money until the time is right.

Amouranth isn't the only massively popular female streamer rumored to be quitting recently. Last month, rumors began swirling about Rachel "Valkyrae" Hofstetter quitting streaming as well. Valkyrae had previously mentioned that she was planning to pivot out of streaming in favor of off-camera business and financial investing, which caused headlines amongst a litany of online publications. Valkyrae, like Amouranth, appear to both be heavily invested in capitalizing on their current streaming popularity now so that they can invest in other industries at some point later down the line.

Regardless of how viewers feel about the the streamer, Amouranth has made it clear that as it stands right now, she isn't going anywhere. Although her niche seems to be content that pushes the envelope of what Twitch may allow, getting frequently banned, at least she hasn't gotten her entire country banned from the platform, like one gamer has.
