The next episode of Techland's "Dying 2 Know" series is right around the corner, showcasing more of its upcoming game Dying Light 2: Stay Human.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human is on its way this December. However, fans won’t have to wait long for more info about Techland’s upcoming game. The game’s next “Dying 2 Know” showcase is right around the corner.

Players can tune in to next month’s Dying Light 2 showcase on July 1st. Fans can catch it on Techland’s official Twitch channel at 12 PM Pacific Time or 3 PM Eastern.

RELATED: Is Dying Light 2 a Direct Sequel?

The first episode of Dying 2 Know aired back in May. It’s one of two semi-regular series Techland uses to drip-feed new information about the upcoming sequel to Dying Light, Techland’s parkour-filled survival horror game. The debut episode featured an interview with the voice of protagonist Aiden, and also included a look at some of Dying Light 2’s gameplay.

A teaser indicates that the July 1st episode might showcase some of the game’s new enemies, though that’s mostly conjecture. However, an Editor from Gameinformer learned a few details when she spoke to Techland earlier this week. It appears that the next episode of Dying 2 Know will focus on the game’s factions, map layout, multiplayer interactions, and a new type of zombie.

Fans learned about the Peacekeepers faction in May. Another faction, known as the Renegades, is a group of ruthless ex-military personnel not interested in coexisting with the other factions in The City. Techland describes them as “very violent and greedy,” and they’re responsible for a chemical bombing that took place during the 20-year gap between games. It definitely sounds like the developers are setting them up as Dying Light 2’s main antagonists. Hopefully, July’s showcase will flesh out more of The City’s other inhabitants.

There’s also the possibility that the second episode of Dying 2 Know might touch on Dying Light 2’s branching narrative. According to the game’s animation director, Dawid Lubryka, side quests will play a significant role in determining the fate of The City. The player’s actions will have a visible effect on the world around them, and characters will respond to those changes. This may push the player into the arms of some factions and earn the hatred of others.

Lubryka also talked about how Techland wanted to explore how humanity adapts to the zombie apocalypse. The subtitle Stay Human isn’t just referring to the zombies, after all. The studio wants Dying Light 2 players to face the kind of harrowing decision that bring someone’s humanity into question. Hopefully, the July 1st showcase dives deeper into that aspect of the game.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human launches December 7th, 2021, for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
