Though a big part of the Mario Golf: Super Rush experience centers around its numerous multiplayer modes, the game also features a single player campaign complete with its own original story. Those interested in solo play may therefore be interested to learn how much content is actually crammed into the game's adventure mode before deciding whether or not it's worth parting with their hard-earned cash.
Adventure mode sees players start out as a rookie Mii golfer, learning new shot types and leveling up their characters as they make their way through the game's five courses. They'll also need to master a number of different game modes in order to make it to the final boss, although the difficulty is such that even those unfamiliar with the sport or golf-themed video games shouldn't have too much trouble navigating all of these challenges.

A skilled player can complete the adventure mode in Mario Golf: Super Rush in around six hours, although those new to the genre will likely need to repeat some of the challenges as they familiarize themselves with the controls and the quirks of the Speed and XC Golf modes. Even by complete beginners, however, the game can easily be completed in under ten hours.
Unlike a lot of other modern video games, Mario Golf: Super Rush doesn't offer much in the way of completion bonuses either. Upon finishing the game, reentering adventure mode will simply place players in the area just before the final boss. It is possible to return to and even replay the previous courses, but there's no real benefit to doing so other than further leveling up the playable character.
There are plenty of bonus clubs and outfits that can be purchased from the game's numerous clubhouses, but these don't do much to extend the playtime. Given how generous the game is with coins, players should have more than enough to buy all of the unlockable items as they make their way through the game. Finishing adventure mode does allow players to use their Mii golfers in Battle Golf, however, which will no doubt satisfy some players.
Whether ten hours is enough to justify the game's $60 price tag will likely vary from person to person. Those looking for a fun multiplayer game to enjoy with friends and family probably won't be all that bothered, although anybody hoping for a substantial amount of single player content may want to think twice, or, at the very least, wait to find out whether the recently announced free Mario Golf: Super Rush DLC will flesh out the solo experience a little more.
Mario Golf: Super Rush is out now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
