Fortnite fans have had no shortage of superhero content to make use of, as the battle royale game is full of Marvel and DC characters. However, it will soon be getting one more, with Epic Games confirming that Loki is on his way to Fortnite.
While Fortnite’s Marvel-themed Season brought a huge chunk of the brand’s most popular characters to the item shop, there were a few notable omissions. While Scarlet Witch, Vision, and Spider-Man rank near the top of the list, Loki has also been one of the most requested Marvel characters for Fortnite. Considering that his brother Thor is in the game, it makes sense that gamers would like to play as the mischievous Asgardian, too. Fortunately, they are finally getting their wish, with Loki set to arrive in July.

Epic Games confirmed Loki’s debut via a post on the official Fortnite Twitter account. Mentioning the Mecha Cuddle Master outfit that made its debut earlier this month, the Tweet also teases that Loki will be arriving via the Fortnite Crew program. As such, those interested will join up with the game’s subscription service. The attached image also shows Loki’s signature helmet against a green background, making it obvious to fans which “trickster” will be joining the game’s massive roster.
Intriguingly, the image features the logo from the original Avengers movie as opposed to the basic Marvel logo. With this in mind, it can be assumed that the character will be wearing his MCU outfit as opposed to one of his comic book costumes or an outfit inspired by the Loki series. Alongside the horned helmet, players can expect him to have some slicked back hair and an intricate outfit. Assuming it is the same, it will be mostly black and gold, with a green cape, sleeves, and accents included in the design.
It will be interesting go see what else is included in Loki’s Crew bundle. Apart from extra V-Bucks and free access to Fortnite’s latest Battle Pass, each outfit is guaranteed to come with at least one matching item. For Loki, there are some fun options available. Loki could have an emote where he pulls out the tesseract or transforms into another Marvel character like Thor. He could also use his staff from the film as a harvesting tool, with his knives and helmet also working as potential tools and emotes. With comic book references possible as well, there is a lot of potential for the bundle beyond Loki himself.
It will be interesting to see if there is a new Fortnite tie-in comic or trailer for Loki’s debut, as other characters have had their journeys to The Island explained. Regardless, fans should be pleased to know that they will have the opportunity to play as Loki in July.
