When it comes to Fortnite, nothing in the game stays the same for long. Epic Games is constantly changing things up and adding new features, and it appears a frequently requested feature may soon be on the schedule. According to a reliable leaker, a system that automatically organizes weapons for players is in the works.
There's a full-on invasion happening in Fortnite, with aliens and UFOs spanning the island. As always, players are getting a lot of new content and it can get a bit overwhelming. With the introduction of new IO Tech weapons for Season 7 as well, players are wondering if there's ever going to be a way to organize their growing arsenal. According to reputable Fortnite leaker HYPEX, Epic Games is aware of the request and is making it happen.

The word is the developer is working on a system for players to easily sort their weapons into selected slots based on their individual preferences. "Epic is most likely working on a setting to automatically place items types in the slot that you want, for example when you pick up a shotgun it'll automatically place it in slot #3 or whichever you want," HYPEX writes. They also say the feature has been in development since patch 17.00. While this has yet to be officially confirmed by Epic Games, it has been a regularly requested feature and would be a welcome addition to the game.
While players wait to see if this new system becomes a reality, they can continue to explore the new sci-fi content in Season 7. They can start by being abducted by the alien mothership looming over the island. Once inside, players can indulge in a minigame that offers rewards that vary depending on how well they perform. Aside from being a fun little sci-fi adventure, there's a chance at obtaining Legendary equipment before being tossed back onto the island.
If players want to experience the sci-fi content in style, they can wear the playable skin that makes them appear as Rick Sanchez from Rick and Morty. It's a cel-shaded skin that looks a lot like the character does from the show. While it is certainly an appropriate addition, given the theming of this season, the Rick Sanchez skin could put players at a disadvantage. Given its bright, colorful appearance, it's very easy for enemies to spot.
If that small caveat doesn't matter and getting the skin is all that does, players can obtain the skin via the Invasion Battle Pass, which also includes a Superman skin. This time around, Season 7 changes the Battle Pass in a pretty big way. Battle Stars have been reintroduced, which allows players to choose their rewards in any order as they level up. Many see this as a positive change, so hopefully, Epic Games will continue this trend and announce the new weapon organization system soon.
Fortnite is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
