The Gunkin Perry is the first major boss players will fight in Scarlet Nexus. It's called a "Major Other," or an Other that's noted to be exceptionally dangerous. Though Yuito is just a trainee at this point, it's up to him and Hanabi to stop it. The Gunkin Perry only appears at the end of Yuito's tutorial mode, while those who chose to play as Kasane must instead take on a different monstrosity, the Dispen Perry.
Scarlet Nexus implements a new fighting style using telekinetic powers of different kinds. In terms of the protagonists Yuito and Kasane, they hold the power of psychokinesis, similar to launching objects around in Control. While the psychokinetic powers are easy to use and deal formidable damage to enemies, each boss requires different strategic maneuvers to defeat it. To beat the Gunkin Perry in Scarlet Nexus, players must find its weak spot and use Yuito's powers to their advantage.

As the Gunkin Perry appears towards the end of Scarlet Nexus' prologue, which acts as a tutorial mode to learn the ropes, they'll have just learned about using the Special Object attack—L2 on PlayStation and Left Trigger on Xbox. It's similar to the regular psychokinesis attack that players learn at the beginning of the game, but is typically reserved for heavier objects and can trigger special attacks, such as smashing enemies with train cars. This is key to beating the Gunkin Perry.
Most bosses and minibosses in Scarlet Nexus will have a weak spot, and they're typically noticeable. For example, the Brawn Yawn has glowing pods on its sides, so players should always aim for them to deal maximum damage. For the Gunkin Perry, its weak spot is a large, round object on top of its body. But it's difficult to reach from Yuito's position on the ground.
Players can hack and slash at the Gunkin Perry as much as they'd please, but it will do a minuscule amount of damage. Looking upward, players may notice sets of large pipes hanging from above the playing field. After gathering enough psychokinetic energy, when prompted with the command, Yuito can use his psychokinetic powers to yank the pipes down on top of the Gunkin Perry. Then, while it's stunned on the ground, use Hanabi's pyrokinesis for some extra damage.
With four sets of pipes hanging from above, Yuito can perform this move four times throughout the fight. Doing so will make defeating the Gunkin Perry relatively simple, but make sure to dodge out of the way of its attacks and keep at a distance as much as possible.
