Fallout: New Vegas was the second 3D Fallout game, continuing on from elements explored in the isometric Fallout 2. It is set in the Mojave wasteland, a mostly barren desert that houses the Hoover Dam, a real-world hydroelectric plant. Fallout: New Vegas allows the player to see the military branch of the NCR, far away from their established power structure in Shady Sands, as they come to blows with The Legion over the Hoover Dam.
