The lore surrounding legendary Pokemon has expanded drastically since the first generation. There was a time when Mewtwo, Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres were the only legendary Pokemon, but now there are far more. Of all the legendaries introduced, Arceus is arguably the most powerful and influential, being credited with creating the entirety of the Pokemon universe. For this reason, it might seem strange that Redditor GNK-770 opted to fuse this powerhouse of a legendary Pokemon with Wurmple, one of the weakest Pokemon to come out of the now eight generations of games.

Fusing Pokemon together is something that fans have been doing for a while now. Sometimes it can result in some pretty cool creations, and other times what comes out is just silly. Pokemon gives fans no shortage of mons to try this with, as there are just under 900 to choose between. Surprisingly, this Wurmple and Arceus mixup actually looks pretty cool.

As previously mentioned, Arceus is the creator of the Pokemon universe. Introduced in Generation 4, there hasn't been any other new Pokemon that could rival his power according to lore. By contrast, Wurmple is from Generation 3, and could easily be considered one of the weakest Pokemon of all time. The two make an unlikely duo, but the result of this fusion is actually kind of cool. Nevertheless, fans are definitely enjoying poking fun at the all powerful creator worm.

GNK-770 names their creation Wurmpeus, but fans in the comments have some other ideas. Suggestions such as Armple, Arceple, and even just Arcle come up, but it's hard to beat Wurmpeus as a name for this majestic beast. The shape of the Pokemon is that of Arceus for the most part, but its entire body has been replaced with the colors and textures of a Wurmple. Most notably, the creature's head is where players can truly see Wurmple, but it's also what makes this design so hilarious. Arceus' long head spike is even replaced by a wiggly Wurmple tail.

Reactions from fans are a mixture of disgust and laughter. Many players can't get past the worm-like body that Wurmpeus has, while others think the comparison between the two is absolutely hilarious. Most players find themselves somewhere in between, with some going so far as to called the image "blursed." Regardless of how one feels about this Pokemon fusion of Wurmple and Arceus, it's clear that the artwork is getting a lot of attention.
