A Minecraft player takes inspiration from Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption to create a western-styled world for Reddit users to see

Minecraft has given many gamers creative outlets, and the ability to share these creations with others. Although it originally released in 2011, the sandbox video game has continuously been updated and added content for players to create complex and creative structures. Minecraft users have exceeded the game's expectations time and time again, and now, Reddit user Sir_archi shared the western-style world they created, inspired by Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption 2.

Minecraft has a large community of users that post their creations to Reddit to show off their hard work. User Sir_archi posted in the Red Dead Redemption 2 subreddit with pictures of their newest creation: a western-style Minecraft world, that he says has been working on "for a while." Sir_archi includes four photos of their work - each a different part (and building) of his big project.

While Sir_archi's creation shows similarities to an old western, gunslinger town, the pictures are further "stylized" by a black and white photo filter that allows the pictures to have a more aged and timely look to them. Inspired by Red Dead Redemption 2's towns Tumbleweed and Armadillo, "Tumblerock" is the name given to Sir_archi's world that includes photos of the town square, an old church, old businesses, and houses, as well as an old abandoned mission.

In the photos of Tumblerock, viewers get to see close-ups of the buildings, including Sir_archi's attention to detail with added plants, sand-like flooring, and wooden blocks to accurately build fences and houses, as well as cement bricks to create the old mission and town hall. Sir_archi even adds a large clock to the town hall's structure, similar to what fans see in the Red Dead Redemption series, but has mentioned that they have already improved and rebuilt said clock.

It seems that Sir_archi underestimated their own potential when creating their work - Sir_archi even discloses in their post that someone encouraged them to post their work on the subreddit hoping it was not "too out of context." Posts of encouragement and praise have already been made to Sir_archi's work and have even inspired others to continue on their own themed Minecraft worlds. This inspiration may even lead others to create similar western, stylized works of their own.

Sir_archi's hard work does indeed deserve merit for the stylized, western look they created; however, fans may not have seen the end of these Red Dead Redemption-inspired worlds. There is still a large community of gamers who do not use Reddit, or might be too young to understand how to use the social media website, or even users that are nervous to post their work that could have similar projects to Sir_archi's. While this western world may be the beginning of a new style of Minecraft world(s), it is certainly not the end.

Minecraft is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
