The Phantom Troupe has some mind-bogglingly strong members but some stand out even among this fearsome group.

Despite the presence of the Hunter Association, some Nen users in the Hunter x Hunter world just couldn't help but become criminals - like the Phantom Troupe. This gang of thieves is no pushover, though, as their members — called Spiders — have Class-A Bounties on their heads. As a result, their activities aren't just infamous across the world, but they have a fearsome reputation as well.

In fact, such is their renown that the Phantom Troupe remains a fan favorite amongst Hunter x Hunter fans. Moreover, exterminating the Spiders were the primary motivation of Kurapika throughout the entire series. However, some members of the Phantom Troupe just dominate the others in terms of power level.

10 Kalluto Zoldyck

Being an acclaimed child assassin from the Zoldyck Family, one would surmise that Kalluto Zoldyck shouldn't fall behind his peers in the Phantom Troupe. However, Kalluto himself admits that he's the weakest member of the Troupe. Interestingly, this doesn't make Kalluto any more of a pushover.

As an assassin, Kalluto already possesses advanced speed, agility, and weapons specialization. Kalluto can create afterimages of himself with Rhythm Echo, an advanced assassination technique. In terms of Nen, Kalluto is a Manipulator and has a penchant for everything paper. His Surveillance Paper Dolls allow him to "bug" people with a paper doll and hear everything near that person. Likewise, his Dance of the Serpent's Bite uses confetti to launch a barrage to tear opponents apart.

9 Nobunaga Hazama

Having the appearance of a traditional samurai, Nobunaga Hazama and his trusty katana already imply some degree of battle finesse. In terms of sheer strength, he ranks ninth among the group. However, his skill with the blade boasts a deadly combination with Nen.

At his core, Nobunaga is a swordsman, capable of using his enhanced physical traits, preternatural perception, and observation techniques to maintain control in combat. As an Iaido specialist, Nobunaga can quickly draw his blade, make a lethal strike, and place it back on its scabbard.

Befitting his combat specialty is his Nen nature as an Enhancer, boasting a powerful aura he could potentially use to enhance his physical abilities. Sadly, the full extent of his powers are yet to be revealed.

8 Bonolenov Ndongo

Despite his mummy boxer appearance, Bonolenov Ndongo ranks eighth among the ranks of the Troupe. As Number 10, Bonolenov is famous not just for his enhanced strength but also his incredible speed and reflexes. Thanks to his agility, stamina, and showmanship, Bonolenov not only dashes into combat, he does so gracefully as well.

In terms of Nen, Bonolenov proved strong enough to use more than two Nen types. However, he does incorporate this in combat - often dancing to the tunes of the holes around his body via Battle Cantabile. With The Prologue tune, he can conjure various combat gear upon himself. Meanwhile, Jupiter summons a giant sphere with the appearance of Jupiter to crush his opponents. Lastly, Metamorphosen allows Bonolenov to transform into different things.

7 Machi Komacine

Machi Komacine has the appearance of a modern-day kunochi, which fits her incredible speed and reflexes. When combined with her enhanced strength and endurance, Machi is a terrifying combatant. She also possesses an incredible degree of muscle control, displaying resistance from otherwise fatal injuries. In terms of strength, she is ranked sixth among the Troupe's members.

However, perhaps more interesting would be her Nen. As a Transmuter, she specializes in using Nen threads to do a variety of things. With Nen Stitches, Machi demonstrated the ability to not just heal injuries but even reattach severed limbs with ease. Moreover, she can use Nen Threads to control other people through her threads.

6 Franklin Bordeau

People are right to associate the hulking Franklin Bordeau for sheer power, as this fiercely loyal Number 7 is willing to kill for the Troupe. In terms of physical strength, Franklin ranks fourth amongst the Troupe's membership. However, he prefers to pair his immense strength with a penchant for long-ranged combat.

Franklin himself possesses already remarkable strength and stamina, paired with speed and reflexes. As an Emitter, Franklin can utilize his aura to release it in various forms. He prefers to release bullets through barrels in his fingers, which reveal themselves when his fingertips separate form them. His emitted aura bullets prove strong enough to even cause fatal wounds.

5 Feitan Portor

Enigmatic and black-clad Feitan Portor serves as Number 2 amongst the Troupe, and served as their leader during Chrollo's absence. However, being the Troupe's de facto leader is a testament to his sheer combat prowess. While he's the fifth among the Troupe in terms of physical power, Feitan compensates for his lightning-fast speed. He combines his sheer speed with his agility and swordsmanship to even come to blows with Zazan, a Chimera Ant Squadron Leader.

In terms of Nen, Feitan is a Transmuter, capable of transforming Nen around him. When enraged, Feitan can hide himself in a suit of armor called the Pain Packer. With its protection, Feitan can activate his Rising Sun, manifesting a ball of aura in the air with power depending on the injuries and pain inflicted towards Feitan during the battle.

4 Phinks Magcub

Tracksuit-touting Phinks Magcub looks like the typical gymgoer, but he possesses a strength to reckon with. In fact, his physical strength is second only to Uvogin - meaning he's currently the physically strongest in the Troupe after Uvogin's demise. It doesn't help that he possesses a ruthless personality, as it makes him much deadlier in combat.

Given his status, it's expected for Phinks to possess incredible strength, durability, and stamina. He pairs this with astonishing speed and hand-to-hand prowess, capable of breaking people's necks in a flash. Moreover, his Nen nature as an Enhancer allows him to further augment his physical abilities. His Ripper Cyclotron allows him to rotate his arms with increasing power - growing capable of destroying even the incredibly resilient body of a Chimera Ant.

3 Uvogin

Despite having passed on, "strength" equates to Uvogin of the Phantom Troupe. This grizzly and bulky fellow is the literal strongest member of the Troupe, boasting an impenetrable fighting spirit. While he doesn't possess any prowess in martial arts, Uvogin pairs his immense strength with enhanced speed and agility to take down foes with swings and punches. Likewise, he possesses remarkable durability, stamina, and endurance to last in prolonged battles.

Had it not been for Kurapika's specially-designed chains, Uvogin would've had the upper hand in a purely physical fight. As an Enhancer, Uvogin can use his aura to strengthen his already bizarre set of physical gifts. In turn, even Specialist Kurapika under Emperor Time can barely graze Uvogin. If he uses Big Bang Impact, this enhanced punch has the power of a small missile.

2 Illumi Zoldyck

Despite being Uvogin's replacement, Illumi Zoldyck is no pushover. As a member of the Zoldyck Family, Illumi is trained in the art of assassination. Outside his Nen, Illumi not only boasts incredible physical strength and speed, but he has remarkable pain tolerance. Paired with his intelligence, Illumi can form strategies on the fly and even manipulate people to do his bidding.

Illumi's incredible control over Nen fits his Manipulation specialization. With his expertise in needles, he can infuse Nen into them for various tasks - such as changing appearance, brainwashing people, or outright controlling them. While not necessarily strong in terms of power, Illumi wouldn't bother overexerting in combat when someone else can do it for him.

1 Chrollo Lucilfer

Phantom Troupe founder Chrollo Lucilfer is arguably the deadliest of all the Troupe's members, with his remarkable skillset earning the praise of the likes of Hisoka himself. While his sheer physical power measures only seventh in the group, Chrollo makes up for his lack of robust strength with remarkable combat skills and enhanced speed, combined with a genius-level intellect and preternatural perception.

Befitting his intelligence is his Specialist status. With his Nen, he can conjure the Bandit's Secret book to trigger his Skill Hunter. With this, Chrollo has to follow certain conditions to steal various abilities - from teleportation, body control, and causing explosions.
