From Marvel’s Spider-Man to Sunset Overdrive, the wizards working at Insomniac always manage to create an enjoyable action-adventure experience, and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart continues this tradition.

While the studio usually offers a highly polished end product to go alongside its smooth gameplay, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart is not without a few minor technical bugs. One of the more frustrating of which is when the NPCs seem to act like there are enemies present when there are none. This wouldn't be a massive issue, but the game's weapon vendor Ms. Zurkon also hides and won’t sell guns or upgrades to Ratchet or Rivet.
The Ms. Zurkon hides and won’t sell glitch seems to occur almost exclusively in one area and time of the game--after completing the main story missions on Blizar Prime. As soon as the last mission ends and Rivet is back at the Mining Hub, everyone starts running like Rivet has an army of Grunthors trailing her. Ms. Zurkon does this as well and won’t let Rivet interact with her.
The glitch will continue even after traveling to other planets, including when taking control of Ratchet. The bug isn’t just a casual annoyance, as Ms. Zurkon is essential for buying and upgrading weapons in Rift Apart. Not being able to interact with Ms. Zurkon also means players won't be able to purchase the Ryno 8, an Easter-Egg-filled tool needed to complete the Fully Stacked Trophy.
Thankfully, there is a quick fix that will get players back to purchasing all the best weapons in Rift Apart again.
Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart does not have a manual save system, so make sure an autosave has triggered before doing anything else. This will already have happened if players noticed the bug at the end of Blizar Prime's story. If the glitch occurred elsewhere, it is best to travel to another planet to trigger an autosave.
Once saved, all players have to do is:
- Go to the PS5 dashboard
- Press the options button (the button right of the touchpad)
- Close the game
- Launch Rift Apart again
When loaded back in, Ms. Zurkon and all other NPCs won’t be falling over themselves trying to get away from either of the Lombaxes. Players can go back to buying and upgrading their favorite weapons.
If for some reason the bug still persists, try repeating the four steps, but also restart the PS5. It is very unlikely that the glitch will continue, but if it does become a constant problem players should use a cloud save to revert to an instance before the glitch occurred. A PlayStation Plus subscription is needed to do this.
Those playing Challenge Mode with all 24 Gold Bolts collected can add infinite ammo and infinite health cheats to see them through the rest of the game if none of the above options are working. This is unlikely to happen, and canceling out of the game and loading back in is almost certain to fix the Ms. Zurkon bug, and players can get back to saving the universes with Ratchet and Rivet.
