Red Dead Redemption 2 has done a good job bringing new fans to the series. However, given the storyline of Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place well before the events of the original Red Dead Redemption, it has the potential to make new players less appreciative of the first entry. That doesn't mean that fans of the first game don't exist, and one such fan has shown their appreciation in an impressive way.
A key feature present in both Red Dead entries is fashion. While the original Red Dead Redemption only had preset outfits for players to choose from, Red Dead 2 possesses a multifaceted, customizable clothing feature. This has allowed players to customize their Red Dead Online characters in a variety of ways, such as one user making an accurate recreation of CJ from GTA: San Andreas in Red Dead Online. However, this project goes a step above in terms of character recreations.

A Reddit user named No_Interaction4027 has faithfully recreated every John Marston outfit from the original Red Dead Redemption. From Marston's regular cowboy look to the Duster Coat, the user even recreated the Legend of the West outfit. However, due to some limitations regarding Red Dead 2's clothing customization, there are missing outfits.
The most obvious is the Mexican Poncho outfit, given there's no such poncho in Red Dead 2. The other outfits are unlocked via Undead Nightmare, and considering there's no follow-up to the zombie DLC campaign from the original Red Dead, none of those outfits can be recreated either. Even so, the user managed to recreate a significant amount of different looks.
Considering the number of mods for Red Dead Redemption 2 currently in circulation, there are likely ways to get alternate clothing options available in order to recreate the full outfit sets from Red Dead Redemption. With any luck, those kinds of mods will be available at some point in the future, considering how many extensive and detailed ones have released for Red Dead 2 already.
It will be interesting to see what the future of Red Dead Redemption 2 will be. Given most of Rockstar Games' attention has been placed on Red Dead Online, it seems unlikely a full-length Red Dead entry will release anytime soon. However, given the series' revitalized popularity following the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, it's possible that Rockstar will do more in the years to come.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
