Call of Duty: Warzone players that prefer to drop at Verdansk’s Salt Mine no longer need to worry about bumping into the area’s killer door.

Call of Duty: Warzone fans already have plenty of other players to worry about in their matches, making the discovery of a murderous doorway a bit frustrating. Fortunately, this strange Call of Duty: Warzone door should no longer be able to add to its victim list.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s killer door was discovered by Reddit user Rxelik_, and it is just as absurd as it sounds. Found accidentally when the player attempted to run through the barricaded walkway, the random Salt Mine door ended up knocking them down. After they were revived, the player equipped a few pieces of armor, proving that the structure would kill regardless of how well-protected someone was. Sure enough, they were knocked down again, with the doorway starting up its own kill count.

While this moment certainly got a laugh out of the Call of Duty: Warzone player that found it, it would be a bit less funny for those that had nobody there to revive them. For solo players and sole survivors, accidentally backing into this door could result in the entire match being lost. As such, while the bug would likely not impact too many matches, the fact that it could play a role at all made it a problem. Fortunately, it seems like Raven Software has heard complaints about the inanimate object, as it should no longer be dangerous.

Part of the same update that brought Call of Duty: Warzone’s Ground Fall event to an end, the patch saw some other fixes being made. Alongside minor adjustments to the Dirt Bike audio, as well as Riot Shields being made exclusive to crates, the killer door was taken care of. The death barrier has since been removed, with players now able to run into the walled-off door as much as they like. For anyone that has been avoiding the salt mine because of this odd bug, there should no longer be a reason to fear the location.

The patch notes also mention the troublesome new exploit that sees Call of Duty: Warzone players meleeing through walls. Fortunately, this too has been fixed. With both issues making players more scared of buildings than actual enemies, it is good to know that they are gone. A final change sees the Red Door’s interact prompt fixed, ensuring that players can fast travel properly. While there are no major balancing changes or map additions in this latest patch, a focus on bug fixes is hardly a bad thing.

Unfortunately, while the killer door may be in the past, Call of Duty: Warzone’s contracts are causing issues again. With this problem likely to impact far more gamers, hopefully a fix will come just as quickly as it did for the Salt Mine’s door.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
