Rise of the Ronin is an open-world RPG that is set during the Bakumatsu period of Japan. Players explore various maps, taking part in missions as they carve their own path through history. While the main objective of the game includes both swordplay and various other weaponry, players also encounter other prominent members of history that they can not only bring into the various missions to help them but also bond with them to the point of starting a romance, better known as a Veiled Vow.
