Mario Golf: Super Rush is an insanely polished Mario Golf game, but this hilarious video shows it still has a few flaws here and there.

Fans were pleasantly surprised when Nintendo showed Mario Golf: Super Rush, as it looked like an insanely polished version of the previous games. Releasing on Switch, it was shaping up to be the best Mario Golf there ever was, but fans quickly discovered that it still has plenty of flaws on its own. While some players were wrapped up low number of courses in the new Mario Golf game, Redditor NinBendo1 stumbled upon something else. It seems like the game's physics engine has a few hiccups, resulting in this absolutely hilarious clip.

Mario Golf: Super Rush players need to make each hole in as few strokes as possible, but sometimes the game seems to have it out for players. That could not have been more true than it was in this instance for NinBendo1, who had this hole robbed from them by a hilarious physics engine glitch.

NinBendo1 hit the ball straight towards the hole, and although it looked as though the ball was going to go in, it started spinning instead. This is nothing unusual, as balls spin around the hole like this fairly frequently in the game, but things started to get strange after the second revolution. Rather than bouncing out, rolling past, or falling in, the ball continued to spin around and around. Four complete circles later, NinBendo1 could do nothing but watch helplessly as the ball continued to roll in circles around the hole. In the end, it made around eight and a half revolutions around the hole before stopping abruptly next to it.

The clip is hilarious to watch, but rather than laugh some players are trying to figure out how on earth this could have happened. One popular theory posits that the game forces balls to spin around once or twice to provide a bit of suspense, but that this ball continued to spin because of a glitch. Others think the physics engine is just broken, but it's clear that this kind of thing isn't common. Regardless of what caused the strange effect, it's certainly funny to watch in action.

Capping off the video, Toad's boisterous laugh seems to confirm that he thinks it's funny too. The post is getting a ton of attention on Reddit, garnering almost 100,000 upvotes and a myriad of awards from other users. It even managed to make its way to the front page of r/gaming, and will probably continue to perplex and delight fans.
