After a decade of champion release, League of Legends has just ticked over the 170 mark with the release of Mel, a long-range mid lane mage who has seen some flexibility in the Support and ADC roles. But with some tricky-to-understand mechanics and less than conventional supportive capabilities, new players will want to pick up a champion with more consistent healing output, crowd-control skills, and a simplistic kit in order to learn the fundamentals of the role.
