Here is everything you need to know about Scoot, the green duck jock villager that you can invite to your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons offers a variety of animals to inhabit on the player's island. From loveable cats like Bob to a unicorn named Julian, the game has the player covered. One of the smallest species of inhabitants alongside the mouse is the duck. Scoot the duck is a longstanding villager of the Animal Crossing series that can make a unique addition to any player's island.

Scoot is a jock villager, obsessed with his physique and sports. Scoot is very active and motivated, although he does come across as self-absorbent and ignorant at times. Scoot being a jock villager means that the player will likely catch him fishing or bug hunting on the island and will likely make it a competition against the player. Jock villagers get along nicely with peppy, cranky, and sisterly villagers such as Muffy, but Scoot will most likely butt heads with lazy and possibly snooty villagers.

Scoot is a green duck with a yellow bill and feet, and blushing pink cheeks. He is wearing a frog t-shirt, and what looks like a pair of undergarments on his head, but in fact is a Japanese swimming cap with his race numbers 1-5 on the back in New Horizons. Scoot is one of the villagers first introduced on the 2002 GameCube game Animal Crossing, making him one of the oldest Animal Crossing characters to be added to New Horizons. Although Scoot was added to newer games such as New Horizons and New Leaf, Scoot has not been yet added to Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

Scoot's style is characterized as "avant-garde" with his New Horizons house having a teal roof and white exterior, blue sky wallpaper with a white picket fence, and grass flooring. Items included in Scoot's house are: a porta-potty, inflatable pool, towel, a blue boom box, garden hose, lawn chair, and refreshments on a table - making the house look like a summer suburban back yard. Playing in the background when you enter Scoot's house is his favorite tune "My Place" by K.K. Slider, one of the game series' reoccurring NPCs.

Despite Scoot's swimming cap looking like a pair of undergarments; the headgear was mistaken for a scooter helmet for many years (players believing that is where the name "Scoot" came from). The duck's birthday is June 13th, falling under the horoscope sign Gemini, and his catchphrase is "zip, zoom."

Scoot is also one of 19 ducks that the player can invite to their island in New Horizons - a small jock duck with a big heart. This green duck would make a loyal addition to any player's home while they are busy creating and building their Animal Crossing oasis.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for the Nintendo Switch.
