Loki Voice Actress Teases 'Much More' Of Miss Minutes In The Future

Tara Strong, the voice behind the CG clock Miss Minutes in Loki, knows there's more to her than meets the eye but can't reveal everything.

Clever Marvel fans might think they've caught every little hidden detail in the Disney Plus series Loki, but odds are many didn't notice the appearance from the DC universe, the Final Fantasy universe, and Cartoon Network all in one. That's not surprising, though, since this is actually referring to an extremely prolific voice actress who's made her rounds through all 3 of those properties time and time again over the years. Now, she's made her way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and she's got a little inside info for her trouble.

Remember that charming little sentient alarm clock seen in the TVA training video and briefly on Loki's desk? That's Miss Minutes, and she's played by voice acting legend Tara Strong. (Many know her as Batgirl in Batman: The Animated Series, Rikku in Final Fantasy X, and Bubbles in The Powerpuff Girls, among nearly 600 other roles over the years.) Strong recently discussed her role and whether or not audiences would see more of that little CGI southern belle as the series goes on, and luckily for those who love when things make no sense, she teased a lot more of Miss Minutes coming up.

"I can cryptically tease that you'll see her again," Strong laughed when speaking with The Hollywood Reporter. "There's much more to be revealed, and it's fun to watch that unfold." She even teased some surprising developments that most people probably didn't expect from an homage to a Jurassic Park training video. "The beautiful thing about this character is you don't really know who she is, where she's from, what her origin story is, how sentient she is, if she has a horse in this race at all, and what her intentions are, if any." Most people likely just saw Miss Minutes as a throwaway side character, and now they probably have no idea what to think after reading that. Well done, Ms. Strong. Always fun when the fans get to enjoy an existential crisis.

Not only did Strong have a fair bit to say about the character herself, but she also gave a little insider's look into the voice acting world, and it's not as pretty as some people might expect. Even someone as well-established in the voice-over business as she is will still have to audition for most roles, and that still doesn't guarantee they'll get to keep it if they end up landing the part. "It's actually quite surprising for many people to learn that most voice actors — even ones who've been in the business for 30 or 40 years — often audition for parts they've already had," Strong said about the process. Luckily, it all worked out, in the end, this time.

Miss Minutes, like pretty much the rest of Loki as a series, is one big enigma wrapped in a funny package. Aside from the impactful and important reveal about Loki's sexuality in the most recent episode, it also revealed that everyone in the TVA is actually a former variant rather than someone created specifically for their job, as originally suggested. So if everyone there is far different than expected, then the same might be true for Loki's favorite little holographic punching bag.

But endless speculation seems to be the goal with every new Marvel series. While Loki may not be quite as mind-bending as WandaVision (at least not yet), it's still got a lot to say, and now it's confirmed that viewers will get to hear Strong's peppy pipes as more gets revealed in this trip of a show.

Loki episodes 1-3 are now available on Disney Plus.
