Adventurers seeking to defeat their foes upon Teer Fradee with up close and personal methods would do well to invest skill points into the Warrior skill tree, as opposed to the Magic and Technical ones (though, some overlap could be useful for particular builds).

Those intending to become the most powerful melee fighter in Greedfall have a few choices of weapon-type to become proficient in using during battle, with One-Handed Blades, One-Handed Heavy Weapons, Long Blades, and Two-Handed Heavy Weapons making up the options. Depending on the path one's warrior desires urge one down, there will be different skills that will be useful, however, the very best stand out for the great combat potential they grant.

10 Cruel Steel

Passive skills should never be overlooked in this game, as players will be utilizing the same actions many times, so making those actions stronger is undeniably a good thing.

Cruel Steel is a fairly early Warrior skill that can be found in the One-Handed Blades part of the skill tree that grants a solid 20% damage boost for this weapon class when used against unarmored enemies.

9 Lansquenet Steadiness

The bigger the weapon one wields, the longer it will take to swing, which means that there will also be larger windows for enemies to hit the player and interrupt their attacks. To avoid this, gamers can increase their Balance stat to get pushed around less in battle.

In the Long Blades part of the Warrior skill tree, there is Lansquenet Steadiness, which gives a notable flat bonus of +50 Balance to the player. This will allow one to land more strikes with bigger weapons before being halted by incoming strikes, that is if the foe can survive one's hard-hitting attacks.

8 Devastating Impact

On the flip side, unbalancing foes is usually a great trait to have in the player's combat repertoire. Those wielding One-Handed Heavy Weapons should even prioritize stun damage over physical damage simply for how effective they are at debilitating and knocking down enemies.

Devastating Impact is a skill that grants smaller, blunt weapons even more potential in combat, as it causes short hammers to strike foes with 50% more stun damage on every swing.

7 Armor Breaker

Armor is the mechanic that minimizes how much health damage a character takes depending on how many points of armor they possess due to what they have equipped. Enemies who have high armor values are much tougher to take down than less-protected foes, though, there are ways around this complication.

The Armor Breaker skill is another found in the One-Handed Heavy Weapons section of the Warrior skill tree that will enhance how such weapons perform. With this obtained, players wielding their favorite shorter hammers will be able to bash away 50% more armor on every blow.

6 Devastating Kick

A generally useful skill to unlock for any kind of Warrior build is Devastating Kick, which gives the player's kicking attack a flat +20 buff to armor damage, meaning that with this skill, one's combos including kicks will be even more effective at shedding a foe's protective shell.

How gamers implement their upgraded kicking prowess is up to them, though it is recommended to pepper them into combos utilizing one's weapon as opposed to simply planting the player character's foot into enemy faces repeatedly, despite how amusing the latter may be in most cases.

5 Strong Kick

Similar to Devastating Kick, Strong Kick is a skill that powers up one's foot-related fighting technique in that it boosts the amount of stun damage done to foes by a colossal 100%.

While great as an addition to any Warrior build, players focusing on maxing out the amount of stun damage they can do should especially consider grabbing this skill to become a master at knocking enemies down.

4 Fury

As nearly the penultimate skill in the Warrior tree, Fury is an appropriately named one that grants a 30% increase to attack speed as well as a 50% increase to combo speed, which, while excellent for any weapon, is incredibly deadly for Long Blades and Two-Handed Heavy Weapons because of their naturally slower swing speed.

Alleviating the issue of slowness makes both of these two heftier weapon-types the most devastating kinds of melee armaments that the player can wield in the game.

3 Powerful Fury

To make Fury even more powerful, players can obtain the skill after it in the Warrior tree, Powerful Fury, which adds a significant 100% stun damage onto the existing effects of the Fury skill.

Long Blade and Two-Handed Heavy Weapon users will again be very happy with this skill in their arsenal of passive traits due to how much easier it will be to knock down adversaries.

2 Regenerative Fury

While Fury is an offensive buff, it can become an excellent defensive skill as well if one grabs the Regenerative Fury one close to the end of the Warrior skill tree.

Upon activating Fury following the acquisition of Regenerative Fury, players will instantly recover 500 health and 150 armor, which will allow the boldest fighters to continue their onslaught undeterred by incoming strikes.

1 Roll

Dodging is a crucial maneuver in combat, especially for those taking the battle to the foe at close range. However, the basic dodge sometimes is not enough to safely evade incoming damage from attacks that hit larger areas.

That's where the Roll skill comes in, as it lets the player perform a combat roll if they tap the dodge button twice in quick succession. The distance that one can move with the Roll easily makes it the best and most-used technique for staying alive while in the middle of a chaotic fray.
