Destiny 2 players need to complete Expunge: Labyrinth in less than 10 minutes to complete the Expedited Expunge: Labyrinth seasonal challenge.

The first Season of the Splicer Expunge mission in Destiny 2, Expunge: Labyrinth, features narrow paths, precarious platforming, and gravity cannons that fire players all over the place. The Expedited Expunge: Labyrinth seasonal challenge tasks players with speedrunning the mission in 10 minutes or less.

Labyrinth is the first Expunge mission that Destiny 2 players will unlock during the Path of the Splicer weekly story quest. As the story has unfolded, players have been able to learn more about what is behind the Vex’s Endless Night.

Before attempting to complete Expunge: Labyrinth in under 10 minutes, players must have the Codestrider, Signal Booster, and Wirewalker Splicer Gauntlet upgrades. These will grant access to some essential shortcuts and useful gravity cannons that make the whole mission, especially the boss fight, much easier.

Completing this mission quickly relies on Destiny 2 players skipping most enemies, so there are no specific gear recommendations for completing this challenge. A primary weapon with decent range, such as a Pulse Rifle or Scout Rifle, can be useful for destroying Vex objects quickly. A Shotgun or Fusion Rifle, such as Plug One.1 from Nightfalls, will pair well with a hard-hitting heavy weapon for boss damage.

Any mobility-boosting Exotic Armor pieces, including Transversive Steps for Warlocks, Lion Rampant for Titans, and St0mp-EE5 for Hunters, will be useful to equip too. No specific Subclasses are needed either, but any that have good movement abilities can be good to have. Top-tree Dawnblade for its in-air dodge and improved flight abilities, or even Thundercrash since it allows a Titan player to fly a great distance very quickly.

This first section is the same across all Expunge missions, and most of it can be skipped by activating the Wirewalker node right at the beginning. From here, players need to follow the new path, jump down the chasm, and traverse the corridor full of shifting blocks to reach the end portal. Ideally, Destiny 2 players should have no more than 90 seconds on the clock at this point.

As soon as players reach the bottom of the gravity lift, they need to jump onto a narrow glowing trail. For the first section of Labyrinth, players just need to follow the trail and crouch to get through the tighter spaces. A few sections of the trail will be so steep that players slide down them, but players can jump once just at the end of the slide to get a burst of speed to easily cross some of the gaps.

At the junction area with the three red rings indicating different paths, Destiny 2 players can take whichever one they are most familiar with. None of them are necessarily easier or quicker routes to get through, and moving quickly through familiar areas is more important.

After crossing the large gap with the small, disappearing platforms, players will start to see more and more Vex enemies throughout this mission. All enemies, including Champions, should be ignored to save as much time as possible, except for the Nexus Guardian Harpies, as they hold an item that is needed to complete the mission.

Players will soon find the first Nexus Guardian they need to destroy to collect its Data Spike item. These Harpies are still quite weak so a shot from a Shotgun or Fusion Rifle will likely kill it. From here, players need to pick up the spike, jump across some platforms, and deposit it in a receiver. While holding the spike, players can move forward quickly by jumping once and immediately performing a melee attack. This helps cross the platforms quickly but can be an issue when players get near the Vex Fanatics as Guardians can unexpectedly lock onto and punch them.

Players can now use some gravity cannons to take them to the next area which will have lots of Vex enemies and a Champion. Run past all of them and follow the trail to left to reach a Codestrider node. This next platforming section will also have red laser cubes that release a mini-Harpy when a player gets too close. If a mini-Harpy touches a player, they will be detained in a bubble. It is important that players destroy the mini-Harpies to avoid getting detained and wasting time.

After using more gravity cannons, Destiny 2 players will land in an area with Fanatics, Cyclopes, and a Champion. Run past all of them and head left to find and destroy the Nexus Guardian. Players will then be able to use a final set of cannons to reach the boss arena.

Before starting the boss fight, there is a node that players can activate that allows them to use two gravity cannons during the boss fight. The mission timer should be at less than seven minutes to easily finish the boss fight in time.

After activating the gravity cannons, players need to run into the arena to lure out Fantis. When it arrives, use a heavy weapon to damage it until it reaches its first immune phase. This will cause lots of Vex to spawn in, including two Nexus Guardians that need to be destroyed, while the rest can be ignored.

Collect the Data Spike that the right Nexus Guardian dropped and take the gravity cannon across the gap to the receiver. Drop off the platform and take the other gravity cannon back onto the arena. This cannon should drop players off right next to the other Data Spike which can be collected and taken to the other receiver using a different gravity cannon on the opposite side of the arena.

Once the spike has been deposited, Fantis’s immunity shield will be lowered, and players can use another gravity cannon to get back to the arena. From here, players need to destroy Fantis as quickly as possible, as it can go into another immune phase if players do not destroy it quickly enough.

With Fantis destroyed, the mission will end, and the timer will stop. If Destiny 2 players followed these steps, the final time should be around eight minutes. Players can also try the corrupted version of this mission to get pinnacle Splicer gear by opening Corrupted Conflux Chests.
