Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel isn't just an action hero, he's also a big fan of musical theater, and he wants everybody to know about it.

Vin Diesel has a real knack for awakening secret desires in his fans. No, not like that. He simply knows how to attach himself to roles and projects that nobody knew they wanted until he proved it to them. From a giant robot that made everybody cry in The Iron Giant to a talking tree with a single-digit vocabulary in the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, Diesel clearly knows how to keep the audience's attention. That's not even including his surprising success in the world of video games with the Riddick franchise. Now, as the latest instance of this trend, he wants to do a Fast and Furious musical, because the world needs a moment of true bliss.

Fresh off the release of F9, the latest film in the vroom vroom series known as The Fast and the Furious, Diesel spiced up one of the stops on his press tour by gushing about his love of musicals, because really, what better time is there? In an interview with Kelly Clarkson on her self-titled talk show, the clearly joy-loving host decided to ask Diesel whether he'd be willing to do a musical in the Fast and Furious franchise, and his answer was as pure and beautiful as any could possibly be.

"I'm dying to do a musical, yes I would," he said, before adding a passionate "oh my GOD." Seemingly surprising Clarkson as much as he probably surprised the audience, Diesel went on to enthusiastically talk about the idea, saying "I've been dying to do a musical my whole life. I was this close to doing Guys and Dolls with Steven Spielberg, but we ended up not doing that." Not only that, but apparently the gravelly-voiced hardcore action star also did musical theater in high school, and that's important to know because everyone deserves the happiness brought on by that knowledge.

Diesel went on to mention how his family is a big reason for his musical passions, crediting them for being not only being artistically inclined but also being supportive. "I would encourage everyone to support people who want to think outside the box and dream something impossible because there's great beauty in that." Those familiar with Diesel's more famous works like the action-packed XXX might be a bit taken aback to hear such wholesome words coming out of the guy who punched a man with his own shotgun in the middle of a diner (in the movie, though he could probably do it in real life too if he set his mind to it).

Long-time fans of Diesel might not even be all that surprised to learn of this decidedly less punchy side to their favorite actor. In fact, the Fast and Furious star is even a dedicated World of Warcraft player, proving that nerds can be big slabs of hunky beef too. His message of support hopefully rings true for anyone out there just looking for a little encouragement in their own passions.

Really, if someone like Diesel can openly declare his love for musical theater, that should open the door for everyone to pursue what they really enjoy regardless of how they think others will judge them. If somebody laughs at them, they can just turn around and say, "Vin Diesel wants to do Guys and Dolls, your guffaws mean nothing."

F9 is now playing in theaters and streaming on HBO Max.
