A player discovers a hidden detail in Red Dead Redemption 2 that can come up only when fist-fighting enemies in shallow water.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is simply a massive game filled with a sprawling world as well as a bevy of intricate animations and mechanics to help players feel immerse. The game is so big, that many players are still finding hidden details throughout Red Dead Redemption 2 years after its release.

Some discoveries are related to rare animations or small scenes scattered across the game's map, like looking through a window to witness a couple stumbling around high on opium. Other discoveries include mission-specific details, such as the recent discovery of how to be an even better person in Red Dead Redemption 2's 'Help A Brother Out' mission.

The newest subtle detail, however, is much less concerned with Arthur Morgan being a good person. The detail was pointed out by the TikTok account @hiddengamingdetails. The detail pointed out takes place after Arthur tackles an enemy to the ground in a pool of water. Normally, players are able to deliver punches or choke the enemy out from that position. When players go to choke the enemy while in water, however, Arthur instead pushes the enemy's head underwater to drown them instead. While it is a detail that most players likely would never come across, it does help make Red Dead Redemption 2 feel as realistic as possible. To see the full video, click here.

While the detailed animation is not as impactful as some of Red Dead Redemption 2's other hidden details, it could add a lot to the game for players who naturally discover it while playing through the game. One part of Red Dead Redemption 2's charm is how it can maintain its realism and detail while reacting to a multitude of actions from players. There is an incredible amount of detail in the game, which has helped it garner a large community of players who want to feel as immersed in the wild west as possible.

It is pretty incredible that the Red Dead Redemption 2 community is still finding new details hidden throughout the game this many years later. With how circumstantial many of the discoveries are, however, it is not that surprising that players are still finding themselves doing new things across the game's massive map on subsequent playthroughs. It will be very interesting to see what sort of new details developer Rockstar Games will be able to put into their games in the future, especially with the power of next-generation consoles. Hopefully, fans will get news on what is next for the studio soon, whether that be Grand Theft Auto 6Red Dead Redemption 3, or an entirely new game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is available now on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
