At its E3 2021 Direct, Nintendo gave fans what they were dying for: a new The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 trailer. This trailer showcased a 2022 release window alongside a plethora of new content, and while that may be a bit of a wait, there's plenty to do in the franchise still. The original Zelda: Breath of the Wild is filled with mysteries, including the Impossible Chest.
This chest has been so-named because, four years since its release in 2017, no one in the The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild community has managed to open the chest. That is, until Youtuber Kleric finally managed to yesterday, June 30.

In the Aris Beach section of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's map, there is a chest that has been completely unreachable. The chest is located deep underwater, won't appear until a player gets within 60 meters of it, starts sinking when it does appear, and finally disappears completely in 7 seconds. As such, getting to this chest and discovering what was inside it hasn't been possible so far. It took Kleric about a month of thinking through the challenge to finally find a way to open it, but it's not through normal means.
To access this chest, Kleric had to glitch 60 meters under the map. They were then able to find the chest, and by using Stasis, bombs, arrows, and Magnesis, Kleric managed to push the bomb back up and put it on a Cryonis block of ice. Many Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild players likely expected this chest to contain something to make such a trial worth it, but unfortunately, it turned out to be rather common in terms of loot.
All Kleric received from this chest was a piece of Amber, a rather common material in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While the item received may not be particularly interesting, Kleric being the first to open this chest is at the very least. That's at least one mystery in the game solve, while players will likely begin turning their attention toward the sequel's mysteries.
Already, players are wondering what happened exactly to Link's arm in Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2, why the trailer didn't show his face, and far more. Clearly, getting those answers will be a serious wait, but from this point on, it's less likely to be as long of a wait as opening this impossible chest.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 is in development for the Nintendo Switch.
