Players can use this list of Crusader Kings 3 trait IDs alongside two console commands to make immediate changes to their characters.

Traits play a major role in Crusader Kings 3, the brand new grand strategy game from Paradox Development Studio, and they can be gained and lost in a variety of different ways. One such method is to use two particular console commands to instantly add or remove traits in Crusader Kings 3. Providing a list of the trait IDs that can be used with these commands is the exact purpose of this helpful resource.

Whenever console commands are involved, it's important to double-check if everything is entered properly. Whether for modding purposes or just simply trying to make the game easier, following these examples should eliminate some annoying headaches in the long run.

Updated July 3, 2021 by Mark Hospodar: The Crusader Kings franchise is well-known for giving players massive amounts of creative freedom. Paradox is always adding new ways to customize the experience to better fit the needs of the individual player. Fans are no doubt full of anticipation when it comes to the next Crusader Kings 3 DLC, titled Royal Court. As a ruler in the Middle Ages, holding court is an awfully important responsibility. The new DLC is set to reflect that fact. Players will hear petitions from their subjects, customize their new throne rooms, and inspire their people to even greater glories, to name just a few.

To enter these commands players must first open Crusader Kings 3 in debug mode and then access the console window by pressing the ~ key. Adding or removing traits all follow a general formula. Players will have to type add_trait [trait ID] or remove_trait [trait ID]. The brackets are omitted. Here's what an example would look like:

  • add_trait humble
  • add_trait shrewd
  • remove_trait celibate

Fans can then use any one of the succeeding console commands followed by the trait IDs listed below to make immediate changes to their leaders in Crusader Kings 3. It is also worth mentioning that this guide is only here to provide the trait IDs themselves and does not cover what each trait does in Crusader Kings 3. Players that would like a better understanding of the traits before they add or remove them are thus advised to visit the Crusader Kings 3 Wiki for further details.

It's worth noting that there is some subjectivity when it comes to terms like "positive" and "negative" in Crusader Kings 3. Both positive and negative traits have their strengths and weaknesses, and most are useful to some extent. These terms simply reflect what was considered attractive qualities in the Medieval world.
