After parting ways with the company late last year, pro wrestler and Twitch streamer Zelina Vega makes her return to the WWE.

Thanks to social media and Twitch streaming, WWE superstars have more ways to connect with their fans than ever before. However, controversy arose last year when WWE started to push back against stars running their own Twitch streams. This proved to be a problem for Zelina Vega (aka Thea Trinidad), as she managed to build up quite the following on Twitch. Eventually, it got to the point where she and the company parted ways, with Vega focusing her efforts on her Twitch stream.

A few months later, Zelina Vega's husband Aleister Black was released from the WWE. WWE releasing Black came as a shock, as the company had just started a feud between him and Big E on television. Between Vega leaving WWE after standing her ground about being able to run her own Twitch stream, her husband being let go from the company, and the wrestler she used to manage jumping ship to AEW (Andrade), the last thing one would expect would be for her to return to WWE. But that's just what happened on the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

To the shock of WWE viewers everywhere, Zelina Vega made her surprise return to WWE on the latest episode of SmackDown. Vega set her sights on the Money in the Bank ladder match, set to take place during the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on July 18.

While Zelina Vega will be competing in the Money in the Bank ladder match on July 18, she wrestled Liv Morgan on SmackDown in the meantime. Ultimately, Morgan was able to pick up the surprise victory against the returning Vega, though she had to pull the tights to get the job done.

With Zelina Vega back in WWE, it will be interesting to see if she has anymore video game-inspired gear. Last year, Vega wore an outfit based on Sombra from Overwatch at SummerSlam, and at the Royal Rumble in 2020, she dressed up as Sindel from Mortal Kombat. With Money in the Bank being Vega's big return to pay-per-view and SummerSlam right around the corner, wrestling fans may very well see more video game-inspired looks from Vega sooner rather than later.

Zelina Vega has worn video game-inspired wrestling gear during some of her high profile WWE appearances over the years, but outside of the ring, she's also been known to cosplay as various video game characters as well. Zelina Vega's video game cosplays have included Nessa from Pokemon Sword and Shield, Loba from Apex Legends, D.Va from Overwatch, and more, and it will be interesting to see what character she cosplays as next.
