One Yakuza 0 fan replaces protagonists Kiryu and Majima with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas' protagonist CJ by modding the game.

Yakuza 0 is one of the most popular entries that has come from SEGA's long-running franchise. With the entire Yakuza series on a variety of platforms including PC and consoles, it has brought in a variety of old and new fans. With these titles accessible on all of these platforms, the modding community also gets a chance to delve into titles like these. Some rather hilarious modifications usually come about from modders when games get PC ports, Yakuza 0 being no exception. One fan decided to replace the game's protagonists with another protagonist from a similar open world title, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

When it comes to playable characters, San Andreas' protagonist Carl Johnson or CJ for short, is a popular choice among modders. The character has been modded in other open world titles, such as when one had replaced Goku's model with CJ's in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. This is the same case here as a modder replaced Kiryu and Majima with CJ's model, and fans are treated to the sight of some incredible moves that CJ couldn't do in his home game.

Originally posted by Sushibro, a YouTuber who specializes in a variety of games, with Yakuza mods being one of them. They had uploaded a few videos showcasing this mod in action. The latest one being a compilation of Yakuza 0's heat moves and QTE actions being executed by CJ in brutal fashion. The sight of CJ shoving a box of nails down the mouth of a random yakuza thug is sure to give fans a laugh at the hilarity.

Another video that Sushibro had uploaded showcasing the mod is from one of the Yakuza series' staple minigames, karaoke. The video even gives a small skit of CJ travelling from San Andreas all the way to the red light district of Kamurocho to participate in singing Majima's karaoke track, 24-Hour Cinderella. Majima singing and dancing as a part of the normal gameplay was hilarious enough, but the seeing CJ's model as a part of the music video segment makes it so much more ridiculous.

This isn't the first time that fans have made a crossover between Yakuza and GTA, and it won't be the last. With modders especially, there is bound to be more ridiculous GTA model swaps that will occur. Some might be able to have CJ and Big Smoke fight it out in some of the series' more climactic final boss battles, as silly and crazy as it sounds.

Yakuza 0 is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
