One will have to perform some specific tasks and forge this demon-powered blade from rare components. Here's how to do so!

There are always a few overpowered weapons to be found in every action RPG, and in some games, they can make certain areas and boss fights almost trivial. FromSoftware games especially possess their share of hidden gem armaments, such as the Drake Sword from the first Dark Souls, or the Lothric Knight Sword in Dark Souls 3.

In the Demon's Souls Remake, a parallel to these excellent and versatile straight swords is the Blueblood Sword, as it packs a lot of physical and magic attack for a blade of its size, in addition to being fairly quick and possessing a varied moveset that can be useful in many melee confrontations.

To get it, however, one will have to perform some specific tasks and forge this demon-powered blade from a Pureblood Demon Soul and a Broken Sword.

The Pureblood Demon Soul drops from the boss Maiden Astraea, found in the Sanctuary of the Lost, after she is vanquished, however, one does not necessarily need to defeat her or her bodyguard Garl Vinland in combat to obtain it. There are various places nearby where the player can snipe the unsuspecting maiden with arrows and she will not retaliate.

In addition to being a core component in ascending the Broken Sword into the Blueblood Sword, the Pureblood Demon Soul can also be traded for some powerful spells and an interesting miracle.

  • Death Cloud (Spell) - bought from Sage Freke
  • Relief (Spell) - bought from Yuria, the Witch
  • Resurrection (Miracle) - bought from Saint Urbain

In the Valley of Defilement, from the Swamp of Sorrow, proceed into the crevice-like pass. Keep going down it until one reaches a ledge overlooking an open area.

To the right, there will be a small, rickety path that the player must traverse next in their search. Hug the wall as one proceeds downward, being wary of enemies, and stop once one gets to the part where the path widens.

From here, drop down to the floor below and deal with the weak foes before turning around to face the direction that one came from while walking down the narrow path.

Proceed straight through the poisonous swamp water until the player spots some glowing white items on the far side of the area. Approach them and harvest the goods, the farthest one on the left being the Broken Sword.

Starting from the Archstone of the Digger King, at Stonefang Tunnel, proceed from the Smithing Grounds. From there, head up the nearest staircase and then proceed straight, through the small stone archway.

Turn left and then jump down onto the rising wooden platform, but don't rest yet, roll forward and get off of the platform to drop to the ground. In this area, one will meet Blacksmith Ed, who will provide the service through which one can ascend the Broken Sword into the Blueblood Sword.

In the menu, select "Upgrade Weapon" and then select the Broken Sword. If one possesses the Pureblood Demon Soul and the required amount of souls (380), players can get Ed to craft the mighty Blueblood Sword.

"A white iron straight sword born from the soul of the demon Maiden Astraea. The sword of true nobility, endowed with the essential power humans are born with, which increases its attack power."

The most promising trait of the Blueblood Sword is that it has both physical and magical attack, meaning that it can be of great use against a huge variety of enemies and bosses.

While its Attribute Bonuses won't seem remarkable, players should be aware of the fact that this blade also scales with the Luck stat, which is only hinted at by the item description and not mentioned anywhere else.

The Attribute Bonuses also hint at the notion that the player will need to be high-level to use this weapon adequately, as that is the prime situation when these meager stat boosts will be the most effective.

And then there are the universally high Attribute Requirements, which lock the player out of using this blade one-handed until they reach 18 in the Strength, Dexterity, Magic, and Faith weapon stats respectively.

  • One-handed light attack - Horizontal slashes
  • One-handed heavy attack - Thrust on first input followed by a vertical slash on the second input
  • Two-handed light attack - Vertical slashes
  • Two-handed heavy attack - Alternating horizontal slashes
  • Running attack - Horizontal slash while moving forward
  • Rolling attack - Horizontal slash while coming out of the roll
  • Off-hand light attack - Block
  • Off-hand heavy attack - Horizontal slashes
