The Soiled Prayer Beads, the first possible Relic that players can find in the game, grants a nice bonus to maximum HP. Here's where to find it!

In action RPGs where even the slightest mistake means taking damage, having more maximum HP can be immensely helpful in every scenario. Players enjoying the dark 2D sidescrolling adventure that is Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights, can thankfully acquire slight max HP upgrades here and there while exploring, which will make delving deeper into the ruined world a bit less dangerous.

The Soiled Prayer Beads, the first possible Relic that players can find in the game, grants a nice bonus to maximum HP and can be found just after beating the first boss, Guardian Siegrid.

The reason that the player can only acquire the Soiled Prayer Beads Relic after defeating Guardian Siegrid is due to the fact that this is the only way to obtain the ability to double jump, which, in-game is known as "The Guardian's Leap".

While a smart mechanic to prevent players from snatching up items unabated by locking the double jump behind a boss, this should not hinder dedicated players from exploration.

This is also an interesting design choice by the developers as there are strong thematic connections between the method of attaining this Relic, the area it is found, and the origin of the Soiled Prayer Beads.

The more observant players will likely have noticed the sparkling item upon a ledge by the entrance of the room where one will find the Cathedral Cloister Respite. This same room is adjacent to the one where the player fights Guardian Siegrid, so it should be very easy to find after the boss is defeated.

After acquiring the ability to double jump, players will be able to scale the ledge by the door with the small waterfall to pick up that glowing item: the Soiled Prayer Beads. When one next rests at a Respite, make sure to equip this Relic, otherwise, it will sit in the player's inventory uselessly.

From the cutscene that the player has likely watched following the defeat of Guardian Siegrid, it will become clear that this once-loving defender protected the White Priestess valiantly until going mad from the violence and chaos that descended onto the world.

The item description of this Relic mentions the intense training that took place in order to determine who the guardian of the White Priestess would be, implying that Siegrid must have outperformed other potential guardians to gain the role of the White Priestess' protector.

The fact that these prayer beads are soiled and lay on a ledge, discarded, may represent the notion that Guardian Siegrid abandoned this Relic after she went mad, which, in turn, indicates the severity of the world's destructive decline. This hint at the darkening nature of the land sets the tone for the creatures and settings that the player will encounter after leaving the starting area.
