The combat gameplay of Scarlet Nexus is something the players will have to get used to in the beginning. As they progress through the game, however, the player will slowly but surely find themselves using almost every single Psycho-Kinetic ability. Concurrently, the player will also find abilities they'll favor more than others.

Before discussing which of the Psycho-Kinetic abilities in this JRPG title are better than the others, it is important to point out that every one of these abilities is useful in its own way. It can be argued that putting one ability above another is merely an opinion, but there are indeed abilities in this game that allows players to make less mistakes during combat encounters.
9 Sclerokinesis
Gemma's ability is sclerokinesis. This power allows him to harden his exterior, nullifying any attacks that may come his way. Whenever the player activates this ability, they can rush into enemies doing whatever they want without any worries of being damaged and killed. The effects of this ability will slowly wear off as the player receives more and more attacks.
As the resident elder and protector of the team, Gemma's powers are perfect for him. As the game progresses, Gemma will often express his intentions to protect those around him, which is evident in various cutscenes where he throws himself in the line of fire with the use of his powers in order to protect Yuito and the others.
8 Clairvoyance
The clairvoyance power is courtesy of Tsugumi. There are certain areas in the game where the player's visions can become clouded, forbidding them from seeing the enemies around. This is where Tsugumi's clairvoyance ability can come in handy. This also works for enemies and Others who have the ability to turn invisible.
Outside of combat, Tsugumi often uses her powers to assess the environment and see enemies coming from far away. In her spare time, she also uses it to enhance her gardening skills.
7 Invisibility
Invisibility is the power of Kagero. While activating this ability, the enemies will be unable to unsee the entire party. The player can also use this to inflict a powerful critical attack on the unassuming enemy. Certain traps can also be overcome by using this particular ability.

As an assassin, the power of invisibility is the perfect ability for Kagero. The player can get the chance to make use of this power too. However, if the player happens to be damaged in any way while invisible, the ability will shut down immediately.
6 Electrokinesis
Electrokinesis is the power of the proud and sharp-tongued Shiden. When activated, the player's melee and psychokinetic attacks will be imbued with electricity. When an enemy is hit with this attack enough, they will eventually be inflicted with the Shocked status, rendering them immobile for a couple of seconds. This attack can be made even more potent with the use of water barrels. This ability is also useful in activating depowered doors and gates.
This power will also give the player's combos a shockwave effect, which damages untargeted but nearby enemies. Shiden's fascination with lightning extends outside of his powers as he also enjoys observing lightning storms.
5 Pyrokinesis
Hanabi is a very mild-mannered, kind, and sweet person, which is why it is so ironic that her ability is pyrokinesis, something so valiantly destructive and chaotic. When activated, the player's weapons and psychokinetic objects will be engulfed in flames, inflicting burn upon enemies. This status effect will chip away at an opponent's health in a small period of time.
To make this power even stronger against an enemy, the player can first hurl an oil barrel on an enemy using Special Object Attack. Like every ability in the game, it can be made much more powerful by increasing the character's bond level.
4 Hypervelocity
When off duty, Arashi is the epitome of sloth. She will do her best to avoid any tedious tasks for the sake of getting a few instances of rest. When in the field, however, Arashi is a dutiful and efficient soldier. Her Hypervelocity not only allows her to reach other places fast but also makes her a very deadly combatant.

When activated, Arashi's hypervelocity will make the party's movements faster than everything around them. This will allow the player to land a couple of combos on an enemy before they can even react. If by any chance the player will get damaged while the ability is active, it will automatically deactivate. This ability can also be used to get through certain obstacles.
3 Teleportation
A member of the esteemed Septentrion, Luka is unarguably one of the most powerful characters in the game, and his powers play a large part of that. His teleportation ability is one of the most useful in the game. Many enemies in the game can be taken down in just mere seconds with the use of this ability.
When targeting an enemy with this ability activated, the player will instantly teleport to their location when performing an attack, catching them off guard. Outside of combat, a lot of the obstacles in many of the game's levels can be snuck past using Luka's teleportation.
2 Duplication
Kyoka's duplication powers will make the player's attacks so much more powerful than they already are. At max bond level, the player will be able to duplicate two copies of themselves, which means every attack counts as three. This also works for every psychokinesis object.
This ability makes every combo and object hurled at opponents much more deadly. It is one of the best abilities the player can take advantage of in the game, whether they're facing minor Others or massive, powerful bosses.
1 Psychokinesis
Psychokinesis is the power of the game's two protagonists: Kasane and Yuito. This power allows them to grab massive objects and hurl them at enemies. As the player's main ability, this is the power they're going to be using the most, making it the one they will be most familiar with by the end of the game.
When activating the other protagonist's psychokinesis with SAS, the player can perform this ability without depleting their power gauge. The player can also activate the Psychokinesis Field ability, which pulls multiple objects and drops them on an opponent, inflicting massive damage.
