While fans are divided over one of Spider-Man: No Way Home’s new suits, a Marvel’s Spider-Man player makes a terrific point about the costume.

In the years since Marvel’s Spider-Man first made its debut, gamers have grown to love the Advanced Suit. However, that was not always the case, and the discussion around a new MCU suit is reminding one Marvel’s Spider-Man player of the initial reaction.

Thus far, official Spider-Man: No Way Home merchandise has leaked two of the suits that will be featured in the movie. One of these is the black and gold suit, with the design looking incredibly sleek and being met with a positive reception from fans. With a Spider Armor Mk. 2-like color scheme, many are hoping that the new suit appears in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. However, the other leaked costume is proving to be incredibly controversial with fans of the webslinger, with some loving it and others hating it.

Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Integrated Suit will see the webslinger in a black and red attire. Overall, the suit looks very similar to the Upgraded Suit from Spider-Man: Far From Home — though there is one big difference. Alongside the black and red that makes up most of the costume, a huge gold spider can be seen on the front of the costume. While it is larger than the one seen on the current MCU suit, its color seems to be the main issue that fans have with the look. However, Garret_Newma0524 believes that they will warm up to it in time just like they did with Insomniac’s suit.

This is a fair argument to make, as Marvel’s Spider-Man’s main suit had its detractors from the get-go. Upon first seeing the white spider, a large majority of gamers felt that it looked out of place for a Spidey costume. After all, the classic red and blue color scheme has almost always been accompanied by a black spider, as the color matches the webbing and does not clash too much with the red and black. Insomniac took a risk with its take on Peter Parker, however, and it took some time for gamers to warm up to the costume.

In the years since release, though, many have come to love the white spider. The suit has been celebrated through countless appreciation posts and pieces of Spider-Man fan art, with a cameo in Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse also pleasing a lot of gamers. With the costume initially disliked due to its spider, though, the arguments around the Integrated Suit are making Garret_Newma0524 “nostalgic.” With the reactions being so similar, perhaps fans will come to love the gold spider just like they did the white one.

With the suit also not seen in action yet, there is a chance that opinions change when a trailer drops. For now, though, the MCU version of Spidey finds himself where the Marvel’s Spider-Man version was just a few years ago.

Marvel’s Spider-Man is available now on PS4 and PS5.
