Genshin Impact's 1.2 Update is now live, and players are currently busy exploring the newly-added Dragonspine region. As fans make their way across this snowy area, they will inevitably encounter a Statute of the Seven that is blocked by a large piece of ice. Indeed, fans that wish to interact with the Dragonspine Statue of the Seven in Genshin Impact will need to clear out this frozen mass, and this guide will detail exactly how that is done.

Updated July 5, 2021 by Mina Smith: Genshin Impact's newest area, Dragonspine, is both massive and deadly. This area is filled to the brim with enemies and puzzles, but also very cold air. Sheer Cold is a status effect that can kill players in no time flat, and this article needed an edition on how to properly handle Sheer Cold. Also, this article has been updated with a good map, some clearer instructions, and even more information on Scarlet Quartz and its buffs. So for anyone lost looking for the Statue of Seven in Dragonspine, this guide has been updated to help.
The Dragonspine Statue of the Seven is located along the road south out of Mondstadt, across the bridge to Dragonspine, and a little south from the border. Since players won't unlock the map for the area until after interacting with the Statue, the best way to find it is to follow the road. When the road dead ends, players should head left (east) until the come across a big ruin. The Statue will be at the top of the ruin.
Once Genshin Impact players get there, however, they will notice that the Statue is surrounded by unbreakable ice. In order to get rid of it, they will have to find some Scarlet Quartz.
To put things simply, Genshin Impact players that are looking to unblock the Dragonspine Statue of the Seven must first pickup a Scarlet Quartz, and there is one located very near to the tower. More specifically, fans that are facing the frozen Statue should turn around and head back to the circular chasm that is just across the narrow pathway. On the far side of this hole, players will see a red crystal, and they should attack it until it breaks and releases a Scarlet Quartz.

Upon collecting this Quartz, players will notice that their character has a red sort of forcefield around them. This indicates that they now have the ability to break the magical ice around the Statue. But they should move quickly; there is a timer on the Scarlet Quartz buff.
Return to the Dragonspine Statue of the Seven and begin to attack the ice in front of it. While this approach would not have proven effective prior to picking up the Scarlet Quartz, the temporary buff that the mineral provides will allow players to make short work of the block. From there, fans will be free to approach the Statue and interact with it to more fully reveal the Dragonspine area in Genshin Impact.
For those players that may be having some trouble reaching this new Statue of the Seven due to Dragonspine's extreme temperatures, it is worth mentioning that there are a number of ways to combat Sheer Cold. For example, certain food in Genshin Impact, such as Goulash, will decrease the rate at which Sheer Cold is accumulated, and fans that are looking to explore the area should make sure to have some of these items on hand. Players can also fight off the effects of Sheer Cold by:
- Picking up Scarlet Quartz
- Standing near a fire Seelie
- Warp Points can fend off Sheer Cold for a short time
- Level up the Frostbearing Tree and make a Warming Bottle
- Standing near bonfires and torches
- Standing near the Statue of Seven
- A healing character can try to keep the party from dying with their powers.
While it is certainly not necessary to stop at every Seelie, torch, or warp point, having a good sense of where they are located will allow players to explore this new area in Genshin Impact more easily.
Genshin Impact is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, PS4, and PS5, and is currently in development for Switch.
