Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players are quickly closing in on the release of Mauer Der Toten, with Treyarch planning to release several teasers about the map this week. The first pair of images kick off these teasers with a bang, as Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players get a glimpse of the new Wonder Weapon.
Getting some insight into one of Mauer Der Toten’s main features is exciting, as teasers have been limited thus far. After all, a brief clip of the map’s subway system and a shot of some Zombies in the city streets is the only video footage fans have received for the Berlin map. While these brief teasers were fun, fans have finally received something more substantial in the form of a Wonder Weapon reveal.

Much like Firebase Z’s RAI-K 84, this new gun is being teased via a blueprint. Called the CRBR-S, an abbreviation of Conversion-Ready Binary Repeater Standard, the weapon was designed by the scientists at Requiem. This is a neat change from the RAI-K 84, as that rifle was made by the villainous Omega Group. While the default version of the CRBR-S is fully automatic and fires a “lethal energy blast,” it seems like there might be a few upgrade paths for the gun.
Arrows point to different barrels for the CRBR-S, though the far more intriguing detail is that this gun will not only have a pistol form. At the bottom of the blueprint, an Assault Rifle variant is shown. As of now, it is unclear if this will be an upgrade or part of the weapon from the get-go. In the classic Zombies map Moon, players could get the Wave Gun, a strong Wonder Weapon that split into the Zap Guns with the press of a button. While this is purely speculation, a similar mechanic could be included here.
Shortly after teasing the CRBR-S pistol, Treyarch released another blueprint that confirmed a special piece of gear for Mauer Der Toten. Dubbed the Kazimir Prototype, the name should be familiar to longtime fans. Not only is this item a reference to Ascension’s main quest in its name, but also its functionality. Based on the description of this equipment, it seems like it will be an upgraded version of the Gersh device. With the new tactical grenade’s main purpose being to open a portal and suck the Zombies back to the Dark Aether, the Kazimir Prototype should satisfy nostalgic players.
It will be interesting to see what Treyarch shares next, as there is plenty to talk about when it comes to Mauer Der Toten’s story and mechanics. For now, though, this pair of blueprints should excite fans.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
